I first met Ryan Neu at the beginning of last year when Vendr became a customer of Suger to get started and scale on AWS marketplace. From day 1, we’ve always shared the belief that B2B sales is too clunky - sales cycles are too long, pricing negotiations are often opaque, and procurement cycles are expensive for both buyers and sellers. SMB-sized purchases should be as simple as buying and selling bed sheets on Amazon.com. The same way that I can choose the thread count and type of cotton, and compare prices, I want to be able to do the same for cloud software. Buy with AWS feature was a huge step forward in driving PLG on cloud marketplace - now sellers can embed marketplace procurement flow directly into their website. Suger was a launch partner at Reinvent - we support any of our customers on the Buy with AWS feature, and we’re beyond ecstatic for it. Vendr led the pack in this feature adoption and killed the need to negotiate SMB purchases. Buyers can skip the back-and-forth by offering pre-negotiated pricing and streamlining approvals.
