So this is it? However hard we try to put a positive spin on things the truth is Mr Sunak that the brewing industry is under siege. Will dear Sir Keir Starmer do anything to make our lives better? well, I don't think so. Not if Wales is anything to go by. There is one simple fix to put brewing back on the map and prevent the rushed closures of hundreds of small brewers. Re-introduce the Guest Ale provision and make sure the pubcos implement it. Then once we have done that simple move, we can revert to beer sold by quality to our discerning public, offering innovation, opportunity, and fun. the consumer wants to be part of a local scene eating and drinking local produce. I won't hold my breath, but who knows if enough of us shout loudly enough, and if the Guest ale opportunity is restricted to brewers of up to say 15000 brls, there could be a renaissance of specialist brewing in the UK. Pub tenants need every bit of help we can give them, and the specialist brewing sector are the people to do it. . So with an election on the horizon, now is the time for us to lobby for the return of Guest ale, and now is the time to shake SIBA from the top down to represent the small brewers, and to stop cozying up to the large family brewers, and Nationals. Perhaps in desperation, we may be able to extract a pre-election promise of action We have a lot to do, we have a lot of great brewers out there who are beginning to lose hope, and are giving up. My message to them is don't give up, batten down the hatches, and make sure that you stay the course. Quality will win the day.

I enjoy working with 'Content Creators." Notice I didn't say 'Influencers...?!" I despise that terminology. I work with Content Creators that actually put effort into their videos. That are niche, but not broad at the same time. Those who get good engagements and more importantly, those that respond to their comments. Too many people try to convince themselves and other they are an 'influencer.' When in reality, they don't influence anything. They throw up 1/2 concocted content and move on to the next. Don't use Content Creators based on followers (those can be manipulated) or just on likes, etc. Choose Content Creators that you enjoy, that make solid content and when you speak to them they are professional and fun. I've worked with many who are rude, think they are the best thing on the gram. Trust me....they were not! But the right Content Creators can help your business.
