Join us in welcoming Wheelock Family Theatre's new Executive Director, Nick Vargas! Nick Vargas is an experienced theatre professional with a sincere and proven commitment to creating high-quality, professional theatre for multigenerational audiences. Prior to joining the Wheelock Family Theatre staff in 2016, Nick spent five years as Casting Director and Artistic Associate at the renowned Imagination Stage in Maryland. At Imagination Stage, he cast 40 productions (including seven world premieres), and managed theatre for the very young touring productions. Although Nick has served Wheelock Family Theatre in a variety of roles over the past seven years (including as associate artistic director), he has been instrumental to the post-pandemic return of live, in-person arts experiences to the greater Boston area. Last year, Wheelock Family Theatre reached nearly 32,000 Boston-area audience members (including more than 14,000 children on school field trips) and engaged more than 600 children in summer and school break education programs. Both an arts administrator and a practicing theatre artist, Nick most recently directed "The Addams Family" for Wheelock Family Theatre. Nick Vargas holds a BA in Theatre Education from Emerson College and an MBA (with a concentration in Social Impact) from Boston University Questrom School of Business.
