Whatever happens at tomorrow's awards ceremony in London, I'm over the moon to have been named as a finalist in the Equality Diversity and Inclusion Champion category of this year's PFS Awards. I had a lot of fun creating the video for this year's entry, and it turned out to be a very personal one: in it, I talked about all the equality, diversity and inclusion issues that I've confronted on my own journey so far, and how those have influenced my work, my brand and my personal mission to help make ours an inclusive and accessible profession. I'm also very much looking forward to the Award Ceremony itself hosted by Davina McCall! Good wishes and the best of luck to all of tomorrow's finalists: I'm looking forward to meeting you all at Sea Containers, London tomorrow!

October half term already! Who else is juggling this week? I'm working this October holidays - but also looking forward to squeezing in as much time as possible with these two. It isn't always easy: but I'm grateful that I've been able to build a work-life that allows me to flex and juggle, so that I can be there when they need me. The photo is a throwback to our glamping weekend in Millport last month!

I've talked a lot about financial vulnerability here lately, and the many forms it takes, because I believe that it's still too easy for too many of us to brush vulnerability under the carpet as something that 'doesn't apply' to us. I read a very interesting email from Boring Money on this topic lately, presenting their new sector report on 'Understanding Vulnerable Customers', and the headlines they shared really stayed with me - especially these two: 👉 One in three investors in the UK – that’s 5.3 million people - display one element of vulnerability as defined by the FCA. This includes financial confidence, mental health, and financial vulnerability factors. 👉The single biggest cohort of vulnerable customers, grouped by age and gender, are female investors aged between 18-34. It's all too easy to dismiss vulnerability as something that affects 'other' people - older people; people who don't have much money; people who are unwell - but in fact, vulnerability can affect any one of us, at any time of life. Boring Money do a great job of opening access to financial advice, to people - vulnerable or otherwise - who might otherwise never have engaged with finance professionals, and that's why I am so glad to be part of their adviser panel and to have the opportunity to answer their readers' questions online. By opening access to more frank conversations about money; financial planning and financial vulnerability, together, we can make a bigger difference for more people through every phase of their lives.

In a digital world, there's still something special about receiving a real parcel in the post, don't you agree? Even when you know what's inside! A few weeks ago, our new client Welcome Cards arrived fresh from the printers. Of course I had already seen the designs on screen, plenty of times - but I have to say, they look even better in real life! We work hard on the transition to paperless at Moran Wealth Management, but I believe there's still a place for traditional print in our business, too: making those special occasions feel more special. Do you still use printed communications in your business?

Often it's the little things that make a big difference 💛 It was a lovely surprise to receive these gorgeous flowers in the post a few weeks ago, after Margaret and I chatted about her tax situation. It was just a short chat - but sometimes that's all it takes to make a difference in someone's life, and that is exactly what I love the most about my work as a financial planner. I feel very grateful that, through my work, I get to change lives every day - helping people get on track for the financial future they really want.

Having the right people around you as you grow your business is a non-negotiable, and I count myself lucky at Moran Wealth Management to have surrounded myself with some of the best! 🌟 I'm a finalist!! 🌟 I'm over the moon to share that I've been selected as a finalist for the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year award with the Personal Finance Society. This one means such a lot to me. As a woman, a single parent and mum to a trans daughter, I've seen exclusion and prejudice at first hand.
