Probably one of the lesser used corporate benefits - charity fund matching. Such an important part for any business who can, to take responsibility and give back to the communities who support us. Something I’ve taken advantage of at HSBC every year for the last 22!
I’m so incredibly proud of my dad, who, after losing two of his friends to their individual battles with cancer, decided to do something about it. Since 2003, we have walked every year (except 2020) in their memory, and he’s raised £211k over that time for various cancer charities, the main ones being Marie Curie, The Oesophageal Patients Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK. Before he retired from his business, there were numerous business associates in his network who also supported with generous donations and by taking part. Some still do to this day despite his retirement 8 years ago.
It must be hard for charities in times of economic hardship, which is why corporate support becomes so much more important.
