Banks Hold the Key to Fighting Scams—Better Data Sharing Can Make All the Difference! 🚨 Which?’s latest study from the UK—leading the way in scam reimbursement policies—shows how banks play a central role in fraud prevention, but more can be done to improve collaboration and support for victims. With similar challenges faced in the U.S., the findings are a valuable lesson globally. ❗ 63% of victims report fraud to their bank, but only 19% report it to Action Fraud, and 17% go to the police. ❗ 49% of victims struggled to report fraud to the receiving bank, showing a need for smoother reporting processes. ❗ 75% of victims are comfortable sharing their data across organizations to prevent future fraud. ❗ 10% of victims didn’t report their fraud case at all, with 27% unaware they could report to other agencies. Banks theoretically hold much of the key information to prevent scams and protect customers, but legal, resource, and risk challenges can pose great hurdles to overcome. That’s why CYBERA exists. By working together, we can help streamline scam reporting, share intelligence, and stop fraudsters faster—empowering banks to lead in scam prevention. #ScamPrevention #DataSharing #VictimSupport #Banking #CollaborateToStopFraud

🚨 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗮 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 🚨 There’s a lot of confusion around crypto tracing—and unfortunately, a lot of shady or grey-area operators too. In collaboration with our non-profit partner SCAM:help, I’ve contributed to a short blog post explaining 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁. 🔍 A 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (CTR) tracks where your stolen crypto ends up. This detailed report can: 𝟭. 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – Find out where your funds went. 𝟮. 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 – Provide evidence to exchanges for freezing stolen assets. 𝟯. 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – Show the entire flow of funds with a clear trail. 𝟰. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – A CTR can help identify suspects and give law enforcement what they need to act. In the best-case scenario, 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲, but often their resources don’t allow for fast enough action. I know Operation Shamrock is working hard to change this for the better in the U.S., and we’re excited to support its continued progress! ⚡ 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆: The longer you wait, the harder it gets to recover your assets. 💡 At CYBERA, we partner with pre-vetted investigators to offer scam survivors trusted, high-quality tracing experts—so you don’t fall into the hands of recovery scammers. If your bank or crypto exchange doesn’t work with us yet, head to our non-profit partner SCAM:help to report a scam and get connected to our trusted tracing partners. Check out the full article linked in the comments and share if it helps someone you know. 👇 #Crypto #ScamRecovery #CryptoTracing #CYBERA #ScamHelp #FightFraud #OperationShamrock

Is Australia Leading the Way in Stopping Scams? What our engineer, Esteban Luchsinger, just shared with me makes me believe so! While exploring Melbourne, he spotted ANZ Bank's Anti-Scam Hut, a dedicated space with videos, content, and many educational elements solely aimed at warning and educating customers about scams and cybersecurity. Education is a key part of protecting victims. Hopefully, other banks will follow suit and go out of their way to help fight this rapidly growing crime, which is the number one threat in many countries. At CYBERA, we work closely with banks—not to build anti-scam huts (although maybe we should!)—but to provide advanced technology and anti-scam intelligence. We offer premium scam support to bank customers and deliver unique analytics that help banks create impactful campaigns like the ones used in the ANZ Anti-Scam Hut. Additionally, we provide real-time actionable intelligence about scammers, enabling banks to integrate this information into their systems and prevent losses before it’s too late. If you’re a bank professional, would you want us to build an anti-scam hut for you? 😉 If you’re a consumer or bank customer, would you visit? [Watch the video Esteban captured and see the Anti-Scam Hut in action!] Let’s make scam prevention a priority, together. #ScamPrevention #FinancialSafety #CYBERA #BankingInnovation #AntiScamHut #EducationMatters #ProtectConsumers

📢 Why Wire Scams Are Also Still a #1 Threat 📢 Today, I had to sign a letter at JPMorganChase Bank before making a wire transfer. Every time I do a wire online, I'm warned about wire scams. Why? Because wire fraud was the #2 scam last year and #1 the year before, causing billions in losses in the US alone. Thanks to Erin West and Operation Shamrock, there's been fantastic progress in highlighting pig butchering and crypto scams. However, the majority of scam transactions still happen through wire transfers and non-crypto transactions, which need just as much attention. We're also seeing more scams where victims are asked to wire money to bank accounts for crypto. In the branch, I explained to the banker that as a former cybercrime prosecutor, my company helps prevent wire scams and recover lost funds. He confirmed the issue, noting that their current tool, SWIFT fraud recall, is slow and ineffective. That's why we built a global financial killchain that alerts most beneficiary banks within minutes, already leading to millions in assets frozen for customers. Check out the snapshot of our platform in the attached photo. The best part? Signing up for our World Economic Forum-Awarded Platform is free for any bank or credit union. DM or contact us by visiting our website to join our Asset Recovery program. Let’s fight scammers together! #cybersecurity #fraudprevention #assetrecovery #banking #fintech #cybercrime #scamhelp

🚨Follow-Up on Our Latest Asset Recovery Success!🚨 Last week, we celebrated a major win in our fight against scams and cyber fraud. Today, we're thrilled to share another success story made possible by CYBERA’s cutting-edge technology and Asset Recovery Program. In a very similar case to last week’s victim success story, we achieved the same steps but even more! Here’s the rundown: 📌 Case Overview: This case involved a classic crypto romance scam, also known as a Pig Butchering Scam. The victim, based in Switzerland, met her scammer on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel (CMB), which failed to spot the scammer's account. The conversation moved to WhatsApp, where the victim was lured into crypto investing, ultimately sending over $90,000 to scammer accounts. Steps to Success: 1. **Quick Case Reporting:** The victim quickly reported the scam to CYBERA via Scamhelp.org. 2. **AI-Powered Case Triage:** Our AI flagged the case for high potential asset freezing and recovery. 3. **Immediate Reporting:** The victim and CYBERA's crypto investigators produced a tracing report within 72 hours and reported the case to the Zurich Police. 4. **Asset Freezing:** Our collaboration with OKX led to the immediate freezing of assets once part of the funds were traced there. 5. **Law Enforcement Action:** The Zurich Police prioritized the case due to the frozen funds, involving the Prosecutor, who sent a freezing order to OKX within two days. Check out the anonymized Freezing Order from the Swiss Police below. This case showcases how fast reporting, tracing, and collaboration between the public and private sectors can work to recover funds. Well, freeze funds – recovery is the next step, and it depends on the judgment, which can take time. CYBERA is launching its ARP: Asset Recovery Program to speed up the actual recovery of frozen funds. Stay tuned for more updates and innovations from CYBERA! 💬 If you are a crypto company, bank, or law enforcement agency, let us know if you have any questions or would like to explore collaboration. 🆘 If you are a victim and scam survivor, access resources at Scamhelp.org or report directly to CYBERA at www.cybera.io/report. #CyberSecurity #ScamHelp #AssetRecovery #Crypto #FinTech #FraudPrevention #CYBERA #VictimSupport

🚨 𝐖𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬! Check out the screenshot below. 🌐 Most victims of scams and cyber fraud never see their money again. But there is hope. At SCAM:help and CYBERA, we support asset recovery with cutting-edge technology. 🎉 To celebrate these successes, my co-founder Claudio S. and I will continue and expand our '𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬', sharing real-life recent stories with positive outcomes. 📌 Here’s the most recent one: The Crypto Exchange OKX just confirmed they have temporarily frozen the funds! How did this happen? 1. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: The victim reported immediately to CYBERA via Scamhelp.org. 2. 𝐀𝐈-𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞: Our AI flagged the case for high potential asset freezing and recovery. 3. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: The victim reported the case using our automatically generated case summary. 4. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬: The addresses were shared and flagged to thousands of exchanges via our integration with leaders like Chainalysis and Scorechain. 5. 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: This is key. Unfortunately, law enforcement couldn't act fast enough, so the victim worked with CYBERA’s expert investigators to trace his funds. (!) This is about to improve thanks to Operation Shamrock, led by Erin West and Matthew Hogan, MS. We are excited to be part of this initiative! 6. 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: Our team quickly identified OKX and Binance as the exchanges where the funds ended up. 7. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐄𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: The report was sent to law enforcement and exchanges. OKX received it, acted immediately, and confirmed that the funds were temporarily frozen. 8. 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐈𝐍: This is a crucial step towards asset recovery. We hope law enforcement will keep the funds frozen and ultimately return them to the victim. 🤞 Fingers crossed, and we're excited to continue working with brilliant minds globally to solve this problem and recover more assets from organized crime.

9moCrypto however should continue to be under scrutiny to protect people. CEX.IO is known for keeping money under the umbrella of ‘security’, with unreasonable requirements and no alternative solutions. Highly unethical. Happy to discuss and tell you what these are.
