Exciting News from the Electric Vehicle Industry! 🚗⚡ Chinese electric vehicle (EV) company, Nio, has announced plans to expand into the Middle East this year. The company’s CEO, William Li, revealed during an earnings call that deliveries of its lowest-priced brand will commence in the first half of next year. Nio, which recently received funding from Middle East-based investors, achieved record-high deliveries of 20,544 vehicles in May. The company, which primarily sells in China and parts of Europe, is set to start offering its products and services in the United Arab Emirates by the end of this year. In response to intensifying competition in the Chinese EV market, Nio launched a lower-priced brand called Onvo in May. An even lower-priced brand, Firefly, is also in the works. On August 5th, NIO completed the 50 million battery swap for users, only 144 days from hitting the last milestone of 40 million battery swaps. With the surge of battery swapping orders, the interval between each 10 million swaps is narrowing. Battery swapping has increasingly become the go-to recharging solution for users due to its efficiency and convenience. Nearly 60% of the electricity consumed by NIO cars came from battery swapping. In Europe, NIO recently launched its 50th Power Swap Station. NIO appreciates the trust and support of every user.
