🌍 Human Connection Knows No Boundaries—Even During Holidays 🌍 As our team returns from their well-deserved holidays, we’re reminded of something profound: even when we scatter across the globe, our connections as humans remain unbroken. From the rugged coastlines of Ireland, the historic streets of Poland, and the bustling cities of Belgium to the serene fjords of Norway, the snowy peaks of the French Alps, the sun-kissed beaches of Vendée, a swimming pool in Ibiza, and the timeless beauty of Italy, one thing is clear—we’re all part of a global tapestry that binds us together. But this isn’t just about travel. In a world that often emphasizes division and competition, our shared experiences—whether exploring new cultures or simply taking a break—reaffirm a simple truth: we are more alike than different. Just as Rutger Bregman challenges us to rethink societal norms, let’s challenge ourselves to see our colleagues not just as coworkers, but as fellow travelers on this journey we call life. This summer, our team didn’t just visit new places—they brought back new perspectives, stories, and a renewed sense of connection. Because no matter where we go, the essence of who we are—our values, our curiosity, our humanity—remains constant. So, as we step back into our daily routines, let’s carry forward the spirit of unity and understanding. Let’s continue to connect, share, and grow, not just as professionals, but as people. After all, it’s these human connections that truly make our work meaningful. Welcome back, everyone. Let’s make this season as enriching as the last, together. ✨ #HumanConnection #GlobalTeam #DiversityAndInclusion #WorkplaceCulture #RutgerBregman Manu Cammaert, Véronique Hoex, Hugo HENRY, Maryline De Beukelaer, Bart Oste, Johan Van den Branden, Anne Stouffs, M. 🎉 AFTER CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS… In France, once the holidays are over, there’s a certain emptiness… January feels cold and long, and even the prospect of seasonal sales doesn’t spark much interest anymore. Traditions like the “Quinzaine du Blanc,” introduced by department stores in the 19th century, are now overshadowed by modern “Black Friday” events, private sales, and regular promotions. 📅 So, we turn to the calendar, looking for public holidays to plan long weekends. Good news: this year, the outlook is promising! People start organizing weekend getaways, family reunions, or time with friends. Summer vacation planning begins as well, all while trying to stick to New Year’s resolutions… at least for a few weeks! 🎓 For high school students preparing for life after graduation, this season can be stressful. Choosing programs, gathering information, and attending fairs—it’s a lot to handle. Let’s think of them and support them during this crucial time. 🌸 Thankfully, the days gradually grow longer, and spring starts making its way into our lives. This gentle transition brings warmth and optimism, helping us kick off the year on the right foot. 🗼 Are you moving to France and need support with administrative tasks, understanding French culture, or finding housing in the Île-de-France region? #icamebytrain to France for my family summer holidays. It took more effort to organise, cost about the same and, being a new experience, was a bit more nerve racking....how are we going to get the family across Paris by Metro to make our connection during the Olympics 😨. So I can understand why people are sticking with the status quo and continuing to fly rather than dipping their toe in the 'low carbon travel' water. BUT having made the leap I would definitely do it again. We arrived back rested, relaxed and feeling like we had seen / experienced more of France. And it was a bit of an adventure! Which is why I LOVE the fact that over 100 employers, including Inghams and Sawday's are supporting / incentivising their employees to give it a whirl through giving them paid 'journey days' for low carbon travel through #climateperks. These employers are making taking that first tricky step to low carbon travel just that bit easier for their employees. And having done it once those employees are much more likely to do it again and by doing so cut their personal carbon footprint significantly. And the companies are benefiting from an easy way to underline their environmental commitment to all employees which leads to business benefits including attraction, retention, engagement and productivity. #employeeengagement #lowcarbontravel #possible

Today we are celebrating the spirit of adventure and the endless possibilities that await us around the globe! But did you know that vacations aren’t just good for the soul – they’re also incredibly beneficial for business? It’s true! When employees take time off to indulge in travel and relaxation, it allows them to rest, recharge, and refocus. This ultimately leads to increased productivity, improved work-life balance, and a happier, more engaged workforce. That is why today, we’re encouraging HR professionals everywhere to seize the opportunity to promote the use of PTO and encourage employees to check off items from their bucket lists. From tropical getaways, a European adventure, or a weekend road trip, now is the perfect time to encourage them to put their travel dreams in place. Where does Access Perks come in? Traveling doesn’t = vacation. Sometimes it's just as simple as experiencing life somewhere else other than where you consider “home.” Reframing the societal norm & guilt around #traveling during a non-traditional time as allowed me to live more aligned. HARD for sure, to combat the pressure of where you feel like you should be vs. where you know it's okay to be. Building a life I don’t want to vacation from, one where I want to experience whatever opportunities I attract regardless of the time of year, has been really important to me since I quit my job working in sports. I’m never fully “checking out” of my reality, just simply doing life from a different location. Business as usual, aligned internally and open to receiving whatever is meant for me. This is a huge reason why I continue to work for myself. Somehow this topic of "traveling" is so controversial. We've seen it become a longer conversation since Covid, but if the works getting done, why does it matter where you are? (Obviously, job & industries differ.) Often it "matters" because other peoples egos, beliefs, and idea of what they think other peoples lives should look like … Sometimes it has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with them. ✨ What are you thoughts around traveling during the work week?!

**#Returning from Vacation: When Your Thoughts Resist the #Workday** Returning from vacation to #work can be incredibly challenging. My entire body seems to #resist, from my hands and feet to my head, which outright rebels against the #workday. Do you feel the same? Spending an entire month in #America has shown me what I do and don't like about #traveling. I might be one of the few who admits to being conservative, loving the comfort of my own bed and the scent of home. Traveling can be a very stressful affair for me. To enjoy traveling, everything must be perfectly planned: a beautiful hotel, good #food, and precise #organization. I'm a gourmet and need to immerse myself in the atmosphere of a new place, to appreciate its beauty and the people who inhabit it. #History fascinates me, but the present moments are just as important—the scents, tastes, colors, sounds, and moods that I perceive and which my brain processes to form reflections and conclusions. America amazed me. It is beautiful, vast, wonderful, complex, rich, and poor, lonely and open, sad and happy. America is everything one can imagine and more. Its diversity and complexity are so profound that it is difficult to define it simply. You need to feel it. Despite my love for #home, I have fallen in love with America. I like it so much that I am eager to return, even though I am the type who loves my own bed and the scent of home. America is a place that deserves to be explored, full of contrasts and unique experiences. #realestate #interactiveConnections #investment #management #luxury #RealEstateInvesting #positive #Nataliya 😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗😘😘💋💋❤️❤️

Cultural holidays can be a lonely time for newly-arrived expats – especially in a work environment. "Think about your favourite holiday," writes career coach Katia L.. "Now imagine if no one around you celebrated it. No decorations, no special meals, no shared excitement. It's hard to feel like you belong in that moment." Fostering a sense of belonging doesn't have to be over-engineered or HR-driven, says Lysionak. Simple things can go a long way, such as a shared team calendar which includes everyone's favourite holiday. Lysionak says 'lunch and learn' sessions, "where anyone who felt like it could share traditions from their home and favourite holiday recipes", are also a great way to help expats feel included. ...because no one should be left behind without the appropriate seasonal cheer 🥂 🎐 🎊 🎍 🎄 🙌 I remember my first New Year's Eve celebration away from home. It was 2003, and I was a foreign exchange student in the US. I found myself all alone on the living room sofa, watching fireworks on TV, while my host family slept. That was the loneliest, most isolating moment I'd ever experienced in my 16 years of life. Being an expat around the holidays is still a tad extra hard for me, even 20 years later. And for those experiencing their first years after relocating, be warned – culture shock and the blues hit extra hard around holidays. Think about your favorite holiday. Now imagine if no one around you celebrated it. No decorations, no special meals, no shared excitement. It's hard to feel like you belong in that moment. As a team lead managing a diverse group, we did some fun, simple things to ensure nobody felt left out during the holiday season: 👉 We created a shared holiday calendar and invited the team to add their most important celebrations. 👉We organized "lunch and learns" where anyone who felt like it could share traditions from their home and favorite holiday recipes (always a great conversation starter!). 👉We collaborated with our kitchen staff to plan for traditional meals around the celebrations! Belonging doesn't have to be over-engineered, HR-driven initiatives. You can simply ask at your next team meeting, 👉"How do we make sure the holiday season is inclusive of all our backgrounds?" #teamcoaching and let the team find what resonates with them, with shared responsibility and accountability. Belonging isn't something a manager or HR can single-handedly solve. Being an expat can sometimes feel isolating, especially in a new work environment. What specific things did your team or colleagues do that made you feel truly welcome and like you belonged? #belonging #teamcoaching #inclusiveholidays #expatlife P.S. Me celebrating Midsummer night all by myself in my local Dublin park :) A win is a win!

🌍 Returning to Work After a Holiday Abroad: Reflecting on Work-Life Balance 🛫 As I return to work after a rejuvenating holiday abroad, I'm reminded of the privilege it is to have a job that affords myself and my family the opportunity to explore new destinations and cultures. ✈️ Taking time away from work to recharge is not only beneficial for our well-being but also enriches our perspective and rejuvenates our creativity. It's a testament to the importance of achieving a healthy work-life balance. 💼 What Does Returning Home Mean to You? Returning home after a holiday can evoke a range of emotions. For some, it's a bittersweet transition from relaxation to the daily grind. For others, it's a chance to bring newfound energy and inspiration into their work. 🤔 How Do You Feel When You Return Home? I'm curious to hear from others about their experiences returning to work after a holiday abroad. How do you feel once you're back home, and how do you maintain a sense of balance between work and leisure? As a family and especially my two teenagers had come up with all manner of scenarios in which we didn't need to return home (or couldn't). They did understand that work and school has to be returned to so we can now focus and plan our next family adventure. Let's start a conversation and share our insights on work-life balance and the value of travel in shaping our professional and personal lives🌟 #WorkLifeBalance #Travel #Reflection #ReturnToWork #LinkedInDiscussion
