Last week, we had the honor of hosting a panel of leaders in sustainable finance, who are making significant strides in the decarbonization of portfolios and the real economy. I remain optimistic, though increasingly convinced that asset exclusion is not the solution to an orderly transition. Instead, financing climate solutions and transforming brown assets requires a financial sector that links climate outcomes with financial performance, regulation that does not stop at climate-related disclosures, and enhanced data management systems.
🌱 On Day 4 of NYC Climate Week, we hosted an inspiring event on Women Driving Decarbonization, moderated by our own Nicole Balarezo Urteaga, Advisory Associate. 👇 Key highlights: 🔸The differences in approaches to implementing decarbonization strategies across various asset classes and investment strategies 🔸The need for new data standards that demonstrate the correlation between value creation and financial performance 🔸The crucial role of governments and regulators in creating an ecosystem to drive the demand for climate solutions 🔸The importance of embedding sustainability within the wider corporate strategy, while also scaling up expertise within operations and finance teams We would like to thank our panelists, three trailblazing women leading efforts in climate action and sustainability, for sharing their insights. 🎙️Irina Markina, Chief Decarbonization Officer, Ara Partners 🎙️ Perrine Toledano, Director of Research and Policy, Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment 🎙️ Paula Luff, Director of Sustainability Research and Engagement, DSC Meridian Capital To learn more about our climate solutions go to: https://okt.to/lJfSit #ClimateWeekNYC #ClimateWeek #NYC #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #NewYork #Decarbonization | Yovanka Bylander Arroyo
