The Legend of the Giallo Ferrari F40: Myths, Facts, and VIP Exclusivity The Ferrari F40, arguably the most iconic supercar of its time, is instantly recognizable in its signature Rosso Corsa red. However, whispers of a few ultra-rare Giallo Modena (yellow) F40s have fueled legends within the automotive world. While these yellow cars exist, their origins are steeped in mystery, special requests, and Ferrari lore. Repainted at Pininfarina for VIP Clients Contrary to popular belief, the Giallo Modena F40s were not painted yellow at the factory in Maranello. All F40s officially left the Ferrari factory in Rosso Corsa red, adhering to Ferrari’s commitment to its racing heritage. However, a select few cars were repainted in Giallo Modena by Pininfarina—Ferrari’s trusted design and engineering partner—before being delivered to VIP clients. This repainting process, likely occurring immediately after production, blurred the lines between “factory-original” and post-production modification. While Ferrari’s official records do not recognize these cars as being factory-original in yellow, their provenance is tied directly to Ferrari’s elite clientele, making them incredibly special in the eyes of collectors. Ferrari Classiche: Ferrari's history is the history of motor racing. In fact often in the past, the racing cars appeared before the road versions. Since the company's foundation in 1947, Ferrari models have represented the perfect synthesis of technological research, typical Italian craftsmanship, and the continuous desire to achieve new goals. Ferrari cars are built to last. Indeed, most of the models produced are still in existence and on the roads, thanks to the desire of the owners to keep them in perfect safe working order. However, a maintenance schedule is necessary to keep them in this peak state. Classic - the 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale! Following up the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 race car from the year before, Alfa Romeo decided to take all that performance and put it in a road car. The 33 Stradale was born. Considered by many to be one of the finest and most balanced cars every built, especially for the time. It sports a 2.0L V8 producing 251hp, with the power routed to the rear wheels via a 6-Speed Speed manual gearbox. It has a 6 second 0-60mph and an advertised top speed of 160mph (though German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport got 156.6mph in their test). Only 18 were made in total, however 5 of them were used to create concept cars from Italian coachbuilders over the years: Italdesign's Alfa Romeo Iguana designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Pininfarina's 1968 Alfa Romeo P33 Roadster, 1969 Alfa Romeo 33/2 Coupe Speciale and 1971 Alfa Romeo Cuneo (built in the same chassis as the P33 Roadster).
