My journey to obtaining Dental Assistant Level 2 license without a traditional course! ➡️ There are two ways to get your dental assistant certificate: 1️⃣ Go to a Canadian dental assistant program at a college for education and certification. It's simple and direct. 2️⃣ Evaluation process (I chose this one): As a internationally trained dentist,I found this path simple, time and cost efficient. I started procedure by evaluating my foreign credentials through WES. Then, I filled out a Dental Assistant Course Work Report Form (available on NDAEB website), sent my university degree and transcripts to the NDAEB Including work report form, and paid a $320 international assessment fee. Within two weeks, I got a confirmation letter saying I could take the exam. Then, I applied online for the written exam, which cost $730. The NDAEB website had all the info I needed to study for the exam. I used the 'Modern Dental Assisting' book by BIRD ROBINSON and did well on the written test. Then, I did the practical evaluation, which cost $1785, including a $100 application fee. For the practical part, I practiced the 9 required skills at the dental clinic where I worked as a level 1 dental assistant. My colleagues were a big help. After 4-6 weeks, I got my results. Then, I told the provincial regulatory bodies about my achievement. In just a week, I had my license! This journey took around 6-7 months and cost about $3500-$4000. It was a great adventure in dentistry. If you need any assistance with the process, feel free to reach out. I'm here to support you. Let's progress together! #dentistry #internationaldentist #dentalassistant #dentaleducation #internationalstudents
