NCDMB, NLNG Commission Daewoo Galvanizing Plant, Reinforce Commitment to Nigerian Content Development. Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) marked a significant milestone in building local capacity in the country as the both organisations commissioned the Daewoo Galvanizing Plant in Abam-ama, Okrika yesterday. The plant, established by Daewoo E & C, one of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors for the Train 7 Project, is a capacity development intervention for the project, that will enhance Nigeria’s manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the growth of the oil and gas sector. This facility has the capacity to produce 10,000 metric tons of galvanized steel annually. The plant was commissioned by Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, and Dr. Philip Mshelbila, NLNG’s MD/CEO, who was represented by Mr. Andy Odeh, GM, External Relations & Sustainable Development, NLNG. #NLNG #Train7 #NigerianContent #LocalContent #StartLocalThinkGlobal #Industrialization

This is good, and a huge success for stakeholders within the Niger delta and south east of Nigeria who use galvanized iron for construction projects and maintenance in the energy and construction industry.
Welcome development, industrialization is what this country needs.
This is giant stride. Kudos to NCDMB NLNG and Daewoe EPC. To NCDMB, your role to cmmunity Content Guidelines CCG is suffering from Epilepsy. What about that? Don’t drive one sided rudder boat. It will run aground.. Turnb

2moThis is indeed a wonderful news, as it brings new capacity within the Country. However, I think there is still a big factor missing. There is the need ,for Nigerian energy sector, to "guarantee" a stable flow of new Projects within the Country. While the news of the new galvanizing facility is a good one, we still have to consider that is implemented by a large international corporation, which can diversify its stream of revenue worlwide in case Nigerian market is not up to desirable speed. The real good news would be the same kind of investments by indigenous companies, but of course they cannot take the risk to invest if there is no assurance of business continuity in the Country.
