We have just two remaining tickets for the highly-anticipated #SydneyFilmFestival screening of #MozartsSister, the latest powerful film from acclaimed director Madeleine Hetherton-Miau and the incredible team Media Stockade. Interest has been huge in this film, which couldn't be more timely given the latest disheartening statistics from the Donne Foundation on gender representation in classical music composition. Despite the increase in the number of talented, diverse and contemporary classical composers, progress in advancing diversity in repertoire has marginally declined since last year. Analysis of 111 orchestras globally found 92.5% of works performed were by men. A staggering 89.3% of these compositions were by white men, with 78.4% of them from deceased white men! We're proud to be working alongside Media Stockade in leading the impact campaign alongside this must-see film. With such sobering new data, this film and its accompanying campaign are urgently needed to drive positive change in this space.

### Navigating Artistic Versatility: The Yasiin Bey Phenomenon Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, serves as a pivotal case study in the seamless blending of musical and cinematic artistry. With his beginnings in the Brooklyn hip-hop scene, Bey formed the duo Black Star with Talib Kweli, creating the influential album "Mos Def and Talib Kweli Are Black Star." This collaboration underscored the duo's accolade-driven attempt to restore hip-hop to its narrative-rich roots, marking a renaissance in conscious rap. Transitioning from music to film, Bey's acting repertoire includes award-winning performances in "The Woodsman" and notable nominations for his role in "Something the Lord Made." Through these artistic endeavors, Bey highlights the advantages of versatility—where one form of expression invigorates another, allowing for broader cultural resonance and storytelling potential. What can we learn from Bey's career about the benefits of cross-disciplinary creativity in today's artistic industries?

A key resource to understand the ongoing challenges to artistic freedom, Freemuse's annual report is such an important read! It covers all regions, but their focus on the impacts of conflict and violence on artists and cultural spaces in #Gaza and #Sudan is harrowing. As always, you can count on Cecilia Noce to give such an important overview on this issue for #LatinAmerica.

Having worked in communications for cultural projects, particularly those connected to contemporary culture and electronic music, I understand better than most the profound impact that political and geopolitical events have on a country's cultural landscape. The rise of the electronic music scene followed the Maidan revolution and the outbreak of war with Russia in 2014—a turbulent and unstable period, yet one brimming with the search for new meanings and identities. Today’s brutal war and russia’s attempts to annihilate the Ukrainian nation evoke only one response from cultural figures: resistance. Even if we are physically destroyed, the idea, the culture, the language, the theater, and the traditions will endure. This article explores precisely that. https://lnkd.in/dzebXW2G

How can we facilitate accessibility and inclusivity in learning experience design? This is the trendy topic I see thrown around too many times, but sadly mostly from the theoretical perspective. Maybe we can start by understanding it better? The video below is a wonderful example of the rich and beautiful world of sign language that I have been a part of as #coda child. The speaker invites us to open our minds to the unique perspectives of the Deaf community. I think that by appreciating sign language, we can foster better inclusion and accessibility in our work. I invite you to watch this talk to understand ASL better but also see the power of different forms of expression. 💪 #asl #signlanguage #coda #languges #expression
