Innovation is a necessity! Here's a 5-point strategy to foster creativity: * Embrace Diverse Thinking: Build teams with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills. Encourage collaborative thinking and problem solving focusing on business domain. Remember ideas should solve business problems (directly or indirectly) to create impact. * Challenge the Status Quo: Encourage questioning of assumptions and traditional methods. There is nothing wrong in asking questions to add value. Flow of thoughts increases when we listen to understand and contribute. * Psychologically Safe Space: Foster an environment where team members feel comfortable sharing ideas without fear of judgement. * Brainstorming & Experimentation: Dedicate time for brainstorming sessions and encourage experimentation with new ideas. * Celebrate & Reward Creativity: Recognize and appreciate creative thinking, even if it doesn't lead to a final solution. Enjoy the process not just the end result! #Creativity #ThoughtProcess #Innovation

Grow and learn with me: personal development, leadership, innovation. I am a project leader, coach, and visual creator, and I share all I learn through my posts and newsletter.
Creativity is good; we can all agree, and most organizations value creativity. But too much creativity can harm our careers. 🎨 💥 In an article on Fast Company, Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic outlines why, rather than fostering creativity, organizations are more likely to reward "business as usual." 🛠️ ➡️ Creativity is, by definition, hard to define and measure. This leads to multiple perspectives on what is and isn't creative. It is easier to measure what we know, to reward what we expect, and to promote people for doing what we tell them. Creativity is rarely part of a performance evaluation discussion. ➡️ Creativity often coexists with some complicated personal attributes and character traits. Creative often challenge the status quo, have unconventional attitudes and beliefs, and are uncompromising with their ideas, preferring to go with their views rather than to make concessions and collaborate. ➡️ Creativity is abundant, and ideas are cheap. Execution makes the difference. We all have ideas, and organizations have plenty. Translating creative ideas into actual innovation requires far more than the ability to think out of the box or brainstorm. It is about the process, discipline, passion for execution, and the ability to collaborate effectively. Thomas Edison said, "Ideas without implementation are just hallucinations." 💡 🛠️ Illustration by me 😊 Extract from an article by Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic on Fast Company.
