Porto is once again among the 10 Best Cities in the World! The city achieved 8th place in Time Out's annual ranking, that also named Porto as the 4th most beautiful city among the destinations listed. Several elements made Porto stand out among the ranking's other cities. "The hospitality of its residents, well-maintained gardens, cultural habits, gastronomy, and traditional tiles are some of the factors that continue to make the city a place of interest for both visitors and locals," listed Catarina Santos Cunha, City Councillor for Tourism and Internationalisation. Distinctions such as these continue to highlight Porto as a place one can not only visit, but also live in. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dmYFjFEJ VisitPorto

We were thrilled to partner with the Arival Activate Edinburgh event last month, a gathering focused on tackling challenges and opportunities in the tourism experience industry across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions. Over two days, more than 300 delegates engaged in hands-on learning and targeted networking with distribution partners, tech companies, and fellow experience providers. As part of the event, we delivered our 'The Power of Food Tourism' presentation at Bonnie & Wild's Scottish Marketplace. Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food, opened with an overview of food tourism and industry trends, while Jackie Ellis, Tourism Angles, and consultant for the Bookable Food and Drink Experiences programme, highlighted the programme’s features. "Scotland is well placed to capitalise on these trends, and the programme has come at the right time to help businesses refine their offerings and make them easier for travellers to discover and book." - Fiona Richmond. The session concluded with a fascinating talk on Scottish tea heritage and tasting by Sandra Benn, founder of Chiya & Chai, a participant in the programme. The event brought together leaders from travel and tourism to foster collaboration, innovation, and idea-sharing. We’re excited to see how the incredible businesses in attendance use these insights to enhance their offerings. Every step counts when it comes to the sustainability journey
We're thrilled to share that Elix has been awarded one of the most recognised eco-labels in the hospitality industry - The Green Key certificate. Nido and MarBella already have this accreditation so all three hotels now have what is one of the world’s leading standards of excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operations for hotels and other tourism establishments. This certification provides a framework for a hotel to measure its individual performance and be accountable for its impact on the environment. From protecting the natural environment and energy-saving initiatives through to special eco activities for our guests, we’ve always embraced the importance of protecting our beautiful surroundings.
