Empowering communities with the Government of California

I am thrilled to announce a significant milestone in my career journey. After a fulfilling tenure in the private sector, where my focus was on profit, profitability and stock prices, I have embarked on a new chapter in the public sector. Recently, I joined the State of California Civil Services at the Department of Social Services (CDSS). In this role, I have the honor of overseeing transformative social welfare initiatives aimed at empowering and supporting some of the most vulnerable constituents of our society. One of my first projects involves implementing a groundbreaking initiative to ensure over 5 million underprivileged students across California receive Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards during summer breaks. In this role I will be working closely with the leaderships of the California Department of Education, California Department of Technology and Office of Technology and Solutions Integration. This initiative, funded by both the State of California and the Federal Government, will provide these students and their families with essential support to access nutritious food of their choice while the schools are in summer breaks. I am deeply moved and grateful for the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of millions of children and their families. Transitioning from a profit-driven environment to one focused on creating positive societal impact has been incredibly rewarding. The public sector has opened my eyes to the profound impact we can collectively achieve when we prioritize people over profits. As Simon Sinek beautifully articulates in his book "Infinite Game,", the public sector embodies the spirit of playing an infinite game, where the goal is not to win against competitors but to continually advance a greater cause. I believe wholeheartedly that the public sector provides a unique platform to contribute meaningfully to our communities and drive sustainable change for future generations. I encourage fellow professionals from the private sector to consider leveraging their skills and expertise in the public sector. Together, we can foster a more inclusive, compassionate society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. I look forward to this enriching journey ahead and invite you to join me in making a lasting impact. Together, let's embrace the infinite possibilities of public service and create a brighter future for all. #PublicService #SocialImpact #CareerTransition #InfiniteGame #SocialWelfare #California
