It's safe to say that the Salesforce ecosystem has exploded over the last few years, defying expectations with both revenue and talent. This might sound great from the get-go, but factors like: - saturation - skill gaps - and the availability of jobs ... have made Salesforce just that little bit harder of a market to break into. This poses the question: is a Salesforce career right for you? 🧐 https://bit.ly/4afg3Sh #Salesforce

Tons of messages since yesterday on openings at Salesforce! May be good to point out a few things about the process of applying. Salesforce recommends that a person only apply for a maximum of 3 different roles in a calendar year. This is so that efforts aren’t duplicated multiple times internally. Referrals are a thing here. Current employees can refer a person in to the system. In fact, large amounts of the folks who land a role at Salesforce are referred by a current employee. The best method in my experience for that is us putting a resume into the HR system FOR THE APPLICANT. Once you have applied, if we aren’t tagged, the UI doesn’t give us a method to then endorse you after the fact. I’m no expert on this, but this is my experience, and I have successfully been referred in and hired here twice now. Best of luck to all the folks trying to join! It’s a great place to be!!! https://lnkd.in/exfjsYBv

I’m bullish on #Salesforce careers, but landing the first role might take some time. Consider an interim job where you use Salesforce as an end-user, particularly if you don’t already have that experience. Customer service and Inside Sales roles are plentiful, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a company that doesn’t use Salesforce for these functions. (They’ll often reference this in the job ad. If not, ask.) ✅Your Salesforce learning curve will shrink dramatically with this context. ✅You’ll get priceless domain knowledge and learn the lingo. ✅ Plus, you can use this knowledge to build a knocked-out Demo Org and stand out as a candidate with Salesforce experience. (See link ⬇️ with exactly how to do this.) What say you, Salesforce peeps? Anyone care to share their experience going this route? PS) Extra credit if you show your Demo Org to the team that runs the Salesforce org. Worst case, you get some great suggestions. Best case, they want to hire you! #Salesforce #SalesforceAdmins #SalesforceCareers

🧑🏽💻One thing about #tech and the ☁️Salesforce ecosystem specifically, the more competitive (and crowded) it’s gotten, the more toxic. ☠️ But you have to read through the mess and see what’s really going on. ✅ Post projects: people say you’re being too technical. 🃏Post fluff: People say you’re not being substantive. 🎖️Get a cert and post about it (after studying for weeks or months!): People make fun of certs and say they’re diminishing in value. Honestly, I don’t care about this but I post this just to point out the constantly shifting goalpost. What’s more important is that if the person making these criticisms would never hire you or do businsss with you anyway, why does their opinion matter? Start holding these people accountable! #salesforce #salesforcedeveloper #salesforcecertified #salesforceconsultant #salesforceadministrator

It has been great jumping back on #trailhead and getting on the path to more #salesforce certifications. My early certifications felt like I was cramming and relying on memorizing concepts. It was great to draw on my experience facing similar situations to answer many of these questions. This career has been very rewarding and one of the best things is not being locked down to a specific role or career path. Looking forward, I have the decision to become a specialist in a specific part of Salesforce or to continue on to pursue an Application or Solution Architect role. If you are facing a similar situation or have already been down this trail, I would love to hear about your experience or recommendations. At the moment, #devops is calling...
