By focusing on both technical and soft skills, these interviews provide a comprehensive understanding of a candidate's abilities and potential for success within a specific role. The structured nature of competency-based interviews, coupled with the use of behavioral questions and the STAR (Situation, Task, Action and Result) methodology, enhances the predictive validity of the assessment. When we use this approach we are better positioned to make informed and objective hiring decisions that align with organizational goals and values.

In my second week of career exploration, I was delving into talent management, which focuses on thorough preparation prior to recruitment to ensure effective talent handling. Additionally, I was studying the recruitment process, covering terminology distinctions such as sourcing versus shortlisting, strategies for building talent pools and pipelines, as well as various interview methods and best practices for HR professionals. It's been both stimulating and incredibly enlightening.
