By focusing on both technical and soft skills, these interviews provide a comprehensive understanding of a candidate's abilities and potential for success within a specific role. The structured nature of competency-based interviews, coupled with the use of behavioral questions and the STAR (Situation, Task, Action and Result) methodology, enhances the predictive validity of the assessment. When we use this approach we are better positioned to make informed and objective hiring decisions that align with organizational goals and values.
