Solar 101 💡 When we talk about the efficiency of a solar panel, we're looking at how much sunlight it can convert into electricity. For example, a panel with 21% efficiency converts 21% of received light into usable energy. While you can't directly increase a panel's efficiency, you can improve its performance by: ✅ Allowing air-flow gaps beneath the panels to keep them cool ✅ Regularly cleaning the panels to remove dirt and debris ✅ Scheduling preventative checks every six months to maintain overall system health. . . #OrnateSolar #Solar101 #solarpanels

To install a 4kW system of 350W solar panels, you'd need about 10 solar panels, requiring around 16 m² of roof space. For a 5kW system, you'd need 13 solar panels and 26² of roof space. It's important to have sufficient roof space, with at least 30 cm of space around the panels.

🌞Why Walking on Solar Panels is a Risky Business🌞 I'd like to shed some light on a common misconception that we often encounter in the solar industry – walking on solar panels. The majority of the solar experts here on Linkedin know this already, so this post and video is more geared towards the new people arriving in our industry (cleaning, maintenance, O&M, installing,...) I also know there are some type of modules that allow to be walked on, but let's not make it too confusing for people and just give a simple straight forward answer here. You just don't walk on modules. A recent electroluminescence test reveals the alarming presence of microcracks caused by foot traffic. (credit for the video to Andrew Gabor at BrightSpot Automation, LLC) This video demonstration visually documents the formation of microcracks when pressure was applied to solar panels by normal body weight. Despite persistent claims from maintenance personnel, cleaners, and even installers that walking on solar panels is safe, this test clearly debunks this myth. 💡The Unseen Dangers of Microcracks 💡 Microcracks pose significant risks: Fire Hazards: Microcracks can compromise the integrity of solar cells, increasing the risk of electrical arcing and potential fire hazards. Performance Loss: These tiny fractures may lead to a decrease in performance efficiency, directly impacting energy output and overall system productivity. System Failures: Over time, microcracks can evolve into more significant structural issues, potentially causing system failures and requiring costly repairs. 🚫Despite assurances from some individuals in the field that walking on solar panels is harmless, the test results strongly indicate otherwise. Even attempting to step on the frames and clamps is not a foolproof solution, as the pressure exerted can still translate into microcracks and compromise the solar panel's longevity. It's crucial for everyone involved in the maintenance, cleaning, and installation of solar panels to be aware of the risks associated with foot traffic. Let's work together to raise awareness within our industry and ensure the longevity and safety of our solar investments. And of course, feel free to share this post to spread the word! Your support in sharing this critical information is highly appreciated! #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #SolarPanelSafety #Microcracks #CleanEnergy #photovoltaic

Empower your industry with smart energy management! Think of it like watching your budget, but for electricity. When we pay attention to how we make and use power, good things happen. We waste less energy, which means we save money. It's like fixing a leaky faucet, but for power. This watchful approach helps us spot problems early. No more surprise blackouts or sky-high bills. Instead, we get reliable power when we need it and lower costs over time. It's simple: when we understand our energy better, everything runs smoother.
