"Have you moved to z/OS 2.5? Have you seen changes in your Workload Manager multi-period service class performance after moving to z/OS 2.5? Starting with z/OS 2.5, service definition coefficients can no longer be specified in the WLM ISPF application. In z/OS 2.5, coefficient values are fixed at CPU = 1, SRB = 1, IOC = 0, and MSO = 0. This can possibly affect service class period durations. The coefficient change could also affect accounting. Service Units are often converted to MIPS/MSUs used for accounting, so it's important to check." - Jerry Street, Senior z/OS Consultant We send out performance tips and helpful resources in our monthly newsletter - sign up here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gCsmRQB5

But here is a question to answer: What would be the outcome of say, making a parser with PetitParser2, make it parse the STT template once, and then visit that every time it needs it rendered computing the right function calls?

Offsite backups day! (Hope you all keep at least 3 copies of your important data on at least 3 different formats) NAS Uodate… After migrating my NAS from TrueNAS Core to Scale, I have started to see benefits but can also confirm iX Systems really have stopped all development on their CORE version. Which is a shame :( This is also what the dev also confirmed to me during one of my bug reports for Core and hence he pushed me to move to Scale instead l, due to greater feature expansion and better future/modern hardware support for the software. My reason for sticking to Core was for performance and stability reasons but I can confirm that Scale is more stable (compare with last 1-2years of unstable Core Updates!) and just was quick (at least after todays NIC issue I fixed today!). So if you are also still using CORE, drop it and more to SCALE. Todays NIC fix and final speed improvement found… I am yet to test multichannel-SMB because I am still using NIC LAGG (LACP) rather than Multi-IP NICs instead. The only reason I can say Scale is just as quick as Core is because today I found that the migration from CORE to SCALE seems to migrated all settings… except one! JumboFrames was disabled and had defaulted back to MTU1500. After setting it back to 9000, file copies are now again maxing out my local computer 2.5Gbps NIC and close to maxing out the write speed of my two USB3 offsite cold storage HDDs. I estimate this boosted the speed from 1.7Gbps to now maxing the 2.5Gbps link. #TrueNAS #migration #CoreIsDead #LongLiveScale #MTUSizeMatters ;)
