Thank you to Bandera Electric Cooperative, CoServ, Central Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc., United Cooperative Services, Comanche Electric Cooperative - CECA, Grayson Collin Electric Cooperative, Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation and the many others who have sent linemen to East Texas to help restore power to our members. Over 1,000 linemen, contractors, and vegetation management crews from Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma and other states are working across our area. Crews have now restored to 24,000 members following Hurricane Beryl tearing through our area. Some transmission was lost last night which caused some members in Walker and San Jacinto Counties who had service restored earlier to lose it again. Crews are working to restore these areas now. #PublicPower utility crews have been helping electric cooperatives in Florida restore power in the wake of Hurricane Idalia, which hit the state last week. “Florida public power is incredibly grateful for the more than 360 personnel from 58 utilities in Florida and from 13 other states including Alabama, Louisiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Iowa, along with hundreds of contractors and tree crews, that worked around the clock to restore power to more than 99.99% of public power customers within 48 hours of Hurricane Idalia making landfall,” said Amy Zubaly, Executive Director of the Florida Municipal Electric Association. https://ow.ly/vf6p50PIsoI

Karen Clark & Company estimates that the privately insured loss from Hurricane #Beryl will be close to $510 million in the Caribbean, $90 million in Mexico, and $2.7 billion in the US. The US estimate includes the privately insured damage to residential, commercial, and industrial properties and automobiles, as well as business interruption. It does not include boats, offshore properties, or NFIP losses. The estimates in the Caribbean and Mexico do not include automobiles or business interruption. https://lnkd.in/ePKnyhFS
