Everyone has stress but many stressors are different. Your stress may be completely different than that of a Senior. So what do Seniors stress about? In most cases they are retired, right? Not always. They saved money for retirement right? Not always or not always enough. They have more health issues than the younger generation right? Normally yes. With that concern sometimes even walking in the grocery store can become stressful. They lose friends and relatives more frequently because many people they know are also seniors. So they can become more isolated. So while you may think they “have it made” they have as many stressors as you do they are just not the same as yours. So be considerate, be kind, help them where you can. Donate your time to stopping by a Senior neighbor to visit for a few minutes a week. While you are out pick up something that shows you were thinking about them while you were out (ice cream cone or cookies). Watch out if diabetic, lol. Just letting them know you care can go a long way to helping them maintain a positive mental attitude and enhancing their longevity. Take care!
