🎯 Navigating Tough Interview Questions: The "Better Opportunity" Dilemma Picture this: you're in an interview, and the panel throws a curveball question your way... "Will you leave this job if you find a better one?" Here’s how I’d respond (and maybe how you’d think about it too 😉): 👉 Option 1: If you want an answer that makes everyone comfortable, I'll say, "No, I wouldn’t leave." Sure, we both know that’s a safe answer. But hey, we’ll act like it’s settled and move on. 👉 Option 2: A more genuine answer is... well, Yes — but with conditions. It’s not as simple as "better" on paper. It would mean considering the big picture: 1. Pay: Does it match my value? 2. Location: Is the neighborhood a place I’ll thrive? 3. Travel time & Commute: How close is it to home? 4. Connections: Will I have my network of friends and family nearby? 5. Environment: Will I adapt to this new role and culture? Let’s be honest; everyone wants to grow. Choosing "better" isn't just about money or title; it’s about growth, fulfillment, and finding that elusive fit. How would you answer? #InterviewTips #CareerGrowth #JobInterviews #ProfessionalJourney #HonestyInInterviews

I experienced a setback during an interview and wanted to share my experience. I prepared extensively, familiarizing myself with the company and rehearsing my responses. However, I found myself overwhelmed by the interviewer's intimidating presence. Regrettably, I lost my composure mid-interview, leading to a missed opportunity to showcase my skills effectively. I apologized to them because I think I wasted their time. I was really hoping for a good outcome but I guess the job really is not for me. It's crucial to learn from such experiences and strive to handle similar situations better in the future. #InterviewExperience #LearningOpportunity

“I need to carve out time on my calendar to prepare for upcoming interviews.” Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. But, here’s an easier way. Just incorporate prep into your daily life. In the shower = interview prep Making coffee = interview prep Driving in the car = interview prep Cooking dinner = interview prep Walking your dog = interview prep At the gym = interview prep On the phone with a friend = interview prep You get the idea 💡 The benefits: + You get more prep time over all + You become more nimble in your delivery + Your answers sound more natural and less rehearsed + You feel more confident in your answers + You get to refine your thinking on a topic or answer + You take the pressure off of squeezing time into your calendar that doesn’t exist You do you. But, if I were preparing for interviews myself or advising my clients, hands down this is the way I’d prepare. #Careers #Jobsearch #Jobseekers #Interviewing P.S. My three top tips for passing a first interview below ⬇️ It's not rocket science, but it's also not always obvious 😊 1️⃣ Know your audience: assuming the first interviewer is "just" HR or "just" some recruiter is an error I see far too many candidates make. This person is the decision-maker, getting them onside ASAP with a little bit of research and rapport building is key 🔑 2️⃣ Master your own career story: we're not looking to trip you up, so have a smooth, coherent narrative for the choices you've made throughout your career and you'll breeze through this question 📈 3️⃣ Make sure motivations match up: everyone wants to feel wanted, right? Pitch the recruiter on why this opportunity is exactly what you're looking for ✅ More in the video below ✨

The fastest way to lose an interview? Make things up. Ever catch yourself rambling in an interview? (Or worse—guessing an answer you don’t know?) Guess what? → It’s a fast track to losing the job. Here’s why that’s a bad move: → You waste the interviewer’s time. → It shows you can’t own up to what you don’t know. → It sets a bad tone for the rest of the interview. So, what should you do instead? → Be upfront. → Own it when you don’t know something. → Offer to walk them through your problem-solving process. → It shows honesty and sharp thinking. Example: "I haven’t used this tool much. But, would you like me to walk through how I’d solve this?" By doing this: → You build trust. → You demonstrate logic and approach. → You show you're a team player who won’t fake it on the job. Stop guessing. Start impressing. Own your gaps & you’ll stand out for all the right reasons. #hr #humanresources #talentacquisition #hiring #jobsearch #careers #careersearch #opentowork #softwareengineering #technology

"Broken View" is more dangerous than "No View". Broken-viewed early career people make 200% more mistakes. Corrected view about interviews - 1/ They're about storytelling. 2/ They're your chance to persuade. 3/ It's where your ideas shine. It's personal branding done in-person. Not just a Q&A session. Did you feel connected with your interviewer anytime? Comment and share your stories.
