INDIA NEWS UPDATE The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned 78 roads covering 563.67 km and 14 bridges under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) - III for Assam, with an estimated investment of US$ 45.4 million (Rs. 378.68 crore). This initiative aims to significantly improve rural connectivity in the state, facilitating easier access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and markets. Karnataka, one of India’s top-performing states economically, still suffers from stark infrastructural inequalities. A recent research paper 'An Inter-district Analysis of Infrastructural Disparities in Karnataka ' by Nimisha Jain, Research Manager, Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business and her co-author, reveals just how significant the gaps are across 30 districts, highlighting a North-South divide that reflects broader developmental challenges.    Key Insights:    Financial Gaps are the Widest  Correlation with Economic Growth  Regional Imbalances    Why This Matters? "Guajrat Soars to New Heights: Tops FDI Increase Chart with $2.6 Billion Jump in FY 2023-24!" Gujarat has emerged as the leader in the annual increase in FDI inflow for FY 2023-24, showcasing a remarkable $2.6 billion surge. In FY 2023-24, Gujarat saw a substantial 55% rise in FDI inflow compared to the previous fiscal year, reaching an impressive $7.3 billion from the $4.7 billion received in FY 2022-23. This surge propelled Gujarat past Karnataka and Delhi to secure the second position in the country in terms of FDI inflow. Gujarat has demonstrated consistent growth in attracting FDI over three consecutive financial years, attracting investments of $2.7 billion in FY 2022, $4.7 billion in FY 2023, and $7.3 billion in FY 2024.
