Small-scale fish farmers with large-scale contributions... More than half the world’s fish catch is produced by small-scale fish farmers, with 90% being consumed locally. Despite their significant contribution to food security and economic growth, they have limited access to modern, sustainable fish farming knowledge and affordable, high-quality resources and market linkages. This is especially prevalent in India, where farmers are unable to generate reliable incomes from their livelihoods and remain the most vulnerable in the face of poverty and marginalization. #fishfarming #smallfisheries #fisherwomen #sustainablelivelihoods #sustainabledevelopment #livelihoods #povertyalleviation #socialimpact #foodsecurity #climatechange

Today is World Food Day, a day to raise awareness and action for the millions of people who suffer from hunger and malnutrition. This year’s theme is: ‘Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind.’ Water is essential for producing food and ensuring adequate nutrition, but it is also a scarce and threatened resource. We need to use water wisely and sustainably to ensure food security for all. AKRSP-India is working to improve water management and irrigation for rural communities in India. By promoting natural farming, improved irrigation practices, and empowering communities., AKRSP-India is supporting farmers adapt to changing conditions and produce more food with efficient use of water. Together, we can ensure water and food security for all. #WorldFoodDay #WaterForFood #FoodForAll #FoodSecurity

Over 400,000 farmers have died by suicide since 1995. This has been a sensitive topic for decades, not only for the industry but the whole nation. The past few years have not been kind to the farmers, with the drought conditions, untimely incessant rainfall, and ultimately, crop failure pushing them into the abyss of indebtedness. But amidst all the things that you can't control - one thing that is even saddening is how many crop failures are due to pest attacks and counterfeit products. Pests affect 30-35% of the annual crop yield in India, and it doesn't help that a staggering amount of fake crop protection products populate the market. This is the reason why we strongly support and facilitate farmer education and training. The fight against counterfeit pesticides is a collective effort of the industry and the government. As more stakeholders join hands in this endeavour, there is hope for a future where farmers can rely on genuine, effective crop protection products. Farm profitability should not be a distant dream but a reality for our farmer family. #farmers #india #wecare #inspiringgrowth #agriculture

The monsoon season is a lifeline for agriculture in India, providing the necessary water for crops. Higher crop yields, increased income for farmers, and improved food security are some of the benefits of a good monsoon season. Conversely, a deficient monsoon can result in drought, crop failure, and economic hardship for rural communities. India's agricultural sector and the overall rural economy are profoundly impacted by the variability of the monsoon. #monsoon #ruraleconomy #indianeconomy

Pest and diseases cause over ₹290 billion annual loss of crops and food production worldwide. But more than that, it affects a regular farmer's income. Petty scams by middlemen, lack of awareness in the community, and lack of experts affects the small and marginal farmers. One of the reasons we pay much attention to conducting farmer education and engagement activities is to solve the plight of such farmers. For me, the community always comes first. Without the consumer, there is no buyer. #agrochemical #farmprofitability #agriculture #india

The most important reason for food waste in advanced countries and hunger and malnutrition in underdeveloped countries is the system of monoculture (anti-biodiversity agriculture) and centralised agrifood system which is controlled by large corporates. Polyculture (biodiversity based agriculture) in tropical countries is the best nature based solution for the problems of poverty, indebtedness, hunger, malnutrition and unemployment in less developed countries.

India's Dairy Revolution: From Deficiency to Abundance Witness the awe-inspiring story of Operation Flood, a government-initiated program that revolutionized India's dairy farming and marked the beginning of the White Revolution. In 1970, the visionary Verghese Kurien, leading the National Dairy Development Board, launched Operation Flood with three crucial objectives: boosting milk production, uplifting rural communities beyond agriculture, and ensuring fair prices for consumers. This initiative created a national-level milk grid that connected rural dairy farmers directly to urban centers, eliminating middlemen through cooperative societies, just as Dr. Kurien had envisioned. By eliminating middlemen's malpractices, cooperatives provided farmers with a stable income and set the stage for a dairy revolution. At GramCover, we deeply acknowledge the unparalleled success of Operation Flood and draw inspiration from its journey. As we strive to secure the dairy sector with tailored insurance solutions, catering to each farmer's unique needs. Our mission is to ensure that the nation's global footprint in the dairy industry remains strong and prosperous. Together, let's safeguard the future of dairy farmers and continue the legacy of this remarkable revolution and #GrowWithGram Jatin Singh, Dhyanesh Bhatt, Vikas Mahajan, Shailendra Tewari, Praveen Ojha, Raju Soni, Navneet Singh, anjani verma #Gramcover #IndiaDairyRevolution #OperationFlood #WhiteRevolution #DairyIndustry #DairyFarming #MilkProduction #Farmers #CooperativeDevelopment #InsuranceForFarmers #SecureTheFuture #Agriculture #SustainableFarming #EmpoweringFarmers #MilkCapital #DairyProducts #RuralDevelopment #AgriculturalInsurance #FarmersFirst #DairyBusiness #RuralLivelihoods #GlobalFootprint #InspiringJourney #FarmersInsurance #AgriculturalRevolution #DairySuccess #DairyEmpowerment #FarmersSupport #DairyHeritage
