In our department, we planned to do something great – celebrating birthdays with a little #party! We’d all chip in some cash, plan a nice spread, and get together to eat, laugh, and just enjoy a break from the usual grind. It was going perfectly for a while… until, of course, one "know-it-all" decided to rain on our parade. There was always some complaint – “Why this cake? I don’t like that person, so no from my side,” or “Why are we spending so much money?” – and slowly but surely, the enthusiasm faded. Before we knew it, the whole plan fell apart. No more parties, no more contributions, and definitely no more fun. Moral of the story? Whether you're managing a tiny office birthday or a massive #corporateevent, it's like a crash course in diplomacy! You quickly learn that not everyone’s easy to please, but hey, that’s half the fun, right? #Officediaries #Officeparty #Corporateevent #Officelife #struggleisreal #Office #Worklife

The captions may be off, my apologies. When I outline these principles, I always bring it back to the fact that we have these as responsibilities to carry out and we can expect that from others with whom we choose to engage with. That is why I keep saying Kwanzaa the holiday is just celebrating these everyday values that inspired the holiday, but are truly carried out with how we live, grow and connect. When the holiday is over, we don’t just stop doing our best and working together 😂😂😂. So for anyone new to Nguzo Babies or my work as a whole, none of this should be taken in isolation…there’s always an ongoing, expansive conversation. You don’t have to be well versed in Kwanzaa to understand the bottomline. I choose to use this framework because it spoke to me, made sense for how I wanted to empower the children I worked with and once I built it like THIS…the children not only understood it, they pointed it out in their play and daily interactions. I think something special can happen when you formally communicate values with children. Of course, you must also set the example by modeling them as well. But back to this video: this, in simplicity, might be seen as holding each other accountable. Once we agree to these terms, we build relationships based on the TRUST we have in each other in carrying these out. That’s why I called them trust blocks.

While more than half of U.S. adults celebrate Memorial Day, the number of celebrators is slightly less this year (62% this year vs. 66% last year). Specifically, cookout attendance is down while holiday travel is up. Here's how to spot those celebrating: https://hubs.la/Q02yk9pf0 #CivicScience #insights #data #trends #intelligence #marketresearch #mrx #consumerbehavior #consumerinsights #consumerintelligence

This October the independent health sector is delighted to be celebrating Freedom to Speak up Month. There are currently almost 500 Freedom to Speak Up Guardians in the sector (a 50% rise in the last year alone) and here at IHPN, we firmly believe that “speaking up” is hugely important in fostering a safe and open culture. Not only does it help ensure that concerns and issues can raised, it is also key to developing a culture where employees feel free to share information and contribute new ideas and initiatives – all of which help improve the care we provide to patients. Of course, “speaking up” means nothing if you’re not being listened to and that’s why this year’s theme – “Listen Up” – is a particularly important one. Listening is about being curious, seeking to understand, to learn and to take action – helping ensure that speaking up really does make a difference and is a core part of our day to day working. We're so pleased to be working with National Guardian's Office this month on why it's important to #ListenUp - read more about what the sector is doing to support Freedom to Speak up in a new blog from our Director of Regulation Dawn Hodgkins: https://lnkd.in/etihDTwp
