Did you know that Rotary youth programs, including #RYPEN, #RYLA and #RotaryYouthExchange have helped develop more than 10,000 young people in Rotary Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands just in the last 10 years? Rotary Reconnect Week provides a reminder that most of these people are happy to help, if given the opportunity. Who will you ask first? #rotaryreconnectweek
Doing my best to increase Rotary’s impact, expand our reach, enhance participants’ engagement and increase our ability to adapt.
Do you know all about #RotaryReconnectWeek? How are you celebrating? The Rotary Club of North Hobart will hear from two former exchange students, Chloe McCann and Evelyn Unwin Tew. Chloe spent her year on #RotaryYouthExchangeProgram in Switzerland, while Evelyn was hosted in Germany. Show your community how youth exchange helps build peace and understanding. RotaryReconnect Week is a great opportunity for telling a Rotary story focusing on young people. #togetherwebuildpeace #togetherweconnect #rotex #alumni #RotaryClubofSandyBay #BatteryPointSatelliteClub #RotaryClubofNorthHobart

🌍 How does solidarity connect to community impact? What is community, what is impact, and what does community impact really mean? 🤔 As a keynote speaker, I have had the opportunity to address these questions and present the work that our teams have been doing since 2018 to explore these concepts within the European youth field. 🇪🇺 A special shoutout to Alexandra Severino and Susie Nicodemi for their passion and the many evenings of work we have shared. 🤩 An additional shoutout to the SALTO European Solidarity Corps, which is committed to taking the topic of community impact seriously in its practices and into the future. 🚀 #EUSolidarityCorps

MBAPrepCoach.com🏆High-touch MBA admissions consulting and editing for M7 + T15. 💼 MBA, EMBA, Part-Time. 🌍US & European schools. 🎓
TRYING TO GET EXTRACURRICULARS ON FOR R1 The ideal is to have ECs that don’t immediately flag “I’m trying to get into b-school by doing this.” Choose something that is a natural extension of your experience or background. If you’re already into football/soccer - how about helping underprivileged children find the means to play soccer after school? Another option is to pick something aligned with your goal as stated in the application. And, if possible, pick something that will culminate in some observable/anecdotal or quantifiable positive impact. For example, a being on the board/committee of a fundraiser that takes place before your application deadline. Would ideally provide a good story that illustrates your character, and helps them get to know you as a person, if used for an essay or interview response.

Empowering African Players: Part 2 Who will help an African player? 2. Sponsors and Family Support Never underestimate the power of someone that believes in you and family. They provide emotional support, motivation, and sometimes even financial help to keep your dream alive. Example: You’re invited to trials with a big club but can’t afford the travel costs. Your family, manager and sponsor pool their resources to cover your expenses. Their support not only gets you to the trials but also gives you the emotional strength to perform at your best. Scenario: A talented young player receives an opportunity to trial with a European club. His family, sponsor and friends organizes a fundraiser to cover his travel and accommodation costs, showing their support and belief in his potential. This support can boosts his confidence and helps him secure a spot on the team.

The amazing organisation that is #parkrun is 20 years old today. There is clear evidence of the significant impact it has on mental health, local community cohesion and encouraging people into/back into exercise. Through a recent research project on parkrun, published in the #EuropeanJournalofMarketing, I explored how innovative it's approach to volunteering was. A complete game changer with flexible roles, flexible commitment and a genuine sense of ownership. You can read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/en5YGv-c
Can you believe it? We’re 20 today! 🎉 From 13 runners and 5 volunteers on Saturday 2 October 2004, to a worldwide community of millions today. Check out our journey 👉 http://parkrun.me/75x1z #TheFeelGoodMovement

Huge data-rich insights here. For those in the #sustainability space, pay attention to page 40-41. 🧐 "Across all regions, racial/ethnic groups, and organization types, youth most frequently report getting to sporting activities by being driven by a family member." ... to the tune of 77%. If we want to make sport accessible into the future (and more environmentally sustainable), it's got to be walkable, bikeable, or accessible on (safe and regularly-running) public transit systems. Driving is expensive and requires an adult to have the time and flexibility to make it happen - a factor that often goes under-examined in sport accessibility (if practice is an hour, but driving to and from takes an extra 40-60min of time, that adult needs ~2hrs of free time in the evening for the kid to play). Plus, it's obviously the worst option from an enviro standpoint. It doesn't have to be this way. Great work Marco & team. 👏
Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities' mission has always been to ensure that ALL children across Canada have an opportunity to experience the transformational benefits of sport and play. That’s why we partnered with the Aspen Institute Sports & Society to spearhead a new survey and report on the State of Play for youth in Canada. Nearly 3,000 children and youth across the country participated in this study, sharing their feedback and helping paint a clearer picture of youth sport preferences, participation levels, motivations to play (or not play) sport, the student-coach relationship and more. Our hope is that the results from this report and the ‘youth voice’ that emerges from the findings will help drive meaningful and actionable change in how community sports leaders run their programming, and help families and youth gain better access to positive sport and play experiences. We invite you to read the report to learn more! https://lnkd.in/ga4RubqD
