The University of Greenwich has picked McLaren Construction, #Wates, #MorganSindall, #Vinci and #WillmottDixon to deliver a £300m programme of works covering a mix of refurbishment, rebuild and new build projects. Projects delivered by the University’s framework deal are expected to vary in value between £50m and £250m across three campuses. The mix of properties within scope include scheduled monuments, listed buildings, buildings of various ages and new construction. This includes the delivery of a new learning, research, and enterprise hub at #Greenwich; new learning and research spaces at the #Medway campus and up-graded teaching, simulated learning and research spaces at #AveryHill to meet changing models of health care and education

Check out my Viewpoint column in this past week's San Francisco Business Times. 📰 I see a future of Downtown San Francisco that includes a significant and coordinated Academic Village -- involving multiple colleges and universities from around the world. Key points include: 🌱 We already have the seeds of a village with over a dozen institutions (both local and from outside) with 13,000 students -- including Golden Gate University, University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), The Wharton School, University of California, San Francisco, University of San Francisco, and San Francisco State University. 🤝 Success will involve multiple universities collaborating -- with both dedicated and shared space for learning, research, housing, and ancillary services. Research/lab space is critically important. ⌛ This project will take some time -- even beyond the possible terms of our incoming Mayor Daniel Lurie 丹尼爾·羅偉 -- and will depend upon the will of both public and private players. 📈 The academic activity will definitely spur JOBS and other types of economic growth.
