The small sample says CPQ is always Configure, Price, Quote. So as an internal product team memember you need to ask yourself are my products configurable. Meaning my products change for each customer. If this is you the small sample agrees you need a CPQ. For the rest of the world that sells licenses for the same technology that does not change with each customer then all of you need a SPQ. Stop over paying for a CPQ when your company really has no reason to configure. Why introduce customizations which is new code that cost a lot of money to create and maintain?
