So, I'm excited. For my afterschool programs this year, I'm hiring 4 assistants. Each student who is interested has to complete an application, get a letter of recommendation, and go through an interview. The ones selected will have a list of expectations they have to agree to, including completing a service project. If they complete the Assistant term successfully, they'll be paid at the end of the semester and will have priority status to serve again next semester. I talked to all of my program alum and EVERYONE of them want to apply to be an Assistant! 1. Interpersonal communication 2. Time management 3. Strategic thinking 4. Decision-making Let's go!!

🎉 Level Up: Resident Assistant Mode Activated! 🌟 I have been missing in action on LinkedIn for the past week because well...I moved into a new apartment! and then decided, “Why not add dorm superhero to the resume?” So, here I am, fully embracing the role of Resident Assistant (RA)—because who needs free time anyway, right? 😅 Being an international student is an adventure in itself—balancing classes, figuring out on-campus jobs, mastering the art of budgeting in a new currency, and learning how to navigate everything from public transport to cultural quirks. Now, add RA duties to the mix, and it’s a whole new level of excitement. But honestly, I’m all in for the ride! 🕵️♀️ Now I’m learning people skills, mastering policies like I’m prepping for a quiz show, and hosting events that are equal parts social gathering and stand-up comedy. Did I mention there’s ALOT art and creativity thrown in for good measure? 🎨 There’s something pretty awesome about getting the opportunity to build a community and being part of one that fosters constant growth and energetic youth. So, here’s to new beginnings, unexpected adventures, and finding out just how much caffeine a human can consume. ☕ #RA #InternationalStudent #JugglingLife #NewBeginnings #DormLifeDiaries #SleepIsOverrated #studyinamerica #dormlife #coding #ComputerScience 😎

PSA to Owners of Early Childhood Education (ECE) Facilities: Your Directors are feeling overwhelmed! Spending most days on recruiting tasks has led to exhaustion and burnout. Post-COVID teacher recruitment has been a new and challenging experience for them. When they refer to what we do as a "luxury service," that means something! Consider giving your admin team a break from recruiting duties, even if only for a few months. Let them rediscover their passion for Early Childhood Education without the constant pressure of being a full-time recruiter. Your Directors deserve a chance to refocus on what truly inspired them to pursue a career in this field.

Training and performance consultant helping employees, teams and leaders to perform at their peak 🌀Contract HR Director with expertise in talent management & development {pharma-biotech. PROSCI. PMI. English. French}
𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯? If you are lucky enough to be aware of (and consulted about) your kids’ employment activities and performance, consider handling any “feedback conversations” in the same way a learning and development specialist would. When discussing a particular performance, good or bad: 1. Demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the person (make a point to accept without judgement) 2. Show empathy and care for the individual (forge trust and preserve rapport at all costs) 3. Recognize autonomy and that every adult (young or old) is an expert on themself and has an idea of what they need to do (ask open ended questions and gently ask permission before sharing your valuable information and parental advice) ——————————— ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕣𝕖𝕗𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤… Like many of us, kids are not immune to employment struggles, stressors, or disappointments. The job market is weird right now and workplace dynamics can be confusing. Not all experiences will be positive… Be kindly and go easy if things don’t go as well as your child expected. Kids (just like adults) may need a safe place to recoup and rebuild their self confidence and their concept of “self efficacy”. ❤️🩹 😘

I'm going to be exploring and launching something new in January, creating meaningful engagement between local further education, our community, and the business/organisations our students go on to join once they've finished their education. I'd like to link up with any business in the North Dorset area (and beyond). Please pop me a message if you'd like to be part of something exciting, or have ever asked yourself any of the following questions: - What haven't the young people I hire learn x or y skills at school? - How do I increase the number and quality of applicants to my job offers?

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Education Consultant at STEAMWorks Consultancy “Supporting 21st Century Science Education”
I just saw a piece about an internal employee not getting a promotion because the company hired an external person. I find this interesting. As a teacher, I worked with an administration that yearly touted the qualities of the new hires coming in and complained about the people they had working for them. I found this weird and poor practice. Yes, new hires with skills outside the set already existing in the school had special interest. However, other things about them were unknown, and these unknowns might be deleterious to the organization. In our situation, it may have been that new hires did not make suggestions for improvement of the operation the first year as they were probationary, so the admin did not get feedback from them. The current employees may have begun making suggestions for improvement in the school's system. The admin did not like this much and began labeling current hires as troublemakers. It was sad when you consider that teachers work directly with students and parents daily. Teachers know what is going on and ways to improve the organization. If the current employee has known characteristics that do not fit the internal promotion, tell them. Or, at least, give them a chance to learn either in training or as a temporary in the promotion role.

Students are the literal beta testers for GenAi, while those in power still get paid greatly. ”Coco is currently in beta. If Coco isn't an option for you at this time, this means your school doesn't have the tool yet. Coco will be available to all in the future!” How can it be a beta test if you’re not in some way logging and learning from me? #Undisclosed #GenAi is almost always #datamining in sheep’s clothes. “Coco is an AI-powered tool specifically designed for students and young professionals on Handshake. Presented as a chatbot, Coco provides free and personalized career guidance, and is always ready to help! Coco can help with goal-setting, planning, career research, industry information, interview prep, and much more!” Except when it can’t; “Coco is an AI tool, and while it strives to provide accurate and helpful information, it might not always be perfect. It's always a good idea to double-check any advice or guidance you receive!“ Double check this information with who exactly, the staff you’ll replace with this tool? Handshake Go to their website on Academic Advising and it shows all human beings taking care of you in-person, not an Ai. Don't you suppose it’s a a little ‘on the nose’ to be switching to an Ai-assisted job finder, during a crisis where Ai is taking jobs faster than these colleges are displacing educators? https://lnkd.in/dHMjppSn
