Just two new grants. I must be slacking these days. Should be at about 100 filed, granted, and classified now, several of which are in use on programmes. Most branches of tech and defence covered. Many cited by tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon as well as Defence and Security companies. We've always celebrated innovation and it's great we continue to focus on it and turn the dial up to 11 as we are doing now. IP and its protection is the lifeblood of any company. Protecting IP is not simply about, and crudely described as, having a legal monopoly. It's about protecting your freedom to operate. Protecting your liberty. We work with hundreds of SMEs and universities to make IP real and everyone benefits from that ecosystem. We are surrounded by talented IP legal teams which make the registration process easy. Just how it should be for the engineers and creative folk. So what are these two? Filed a while ago. RF DEW focussing solution to extend range and or improve accuracy and precision. Varying implementations possible. Counter drone via a jellyfish-like drone interceptor arrangement. The strings engineered to stick only when they need to stick to the offending drone. Entangling the offending drone and neutralising any control authority. DARPA has been doing similar-ish recently. Search for DARPA, silly string, New Scientist. AI Analysis of Satellite Navigation Data in Swiss Railway Environment. Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is expected to become a game-changer for railway traffic management systems in the future. Currently, train positions are monitored using fixed track-sections occupied by the trains. With GNSS, however, object localization can be used to continuously report accurate train positions, allowing moving track-sections to be used for future rail management. The challenge Due to the critical nature of train management, GNSS data must meet high standards of accuracy, availability, integrity, and robustness against signal blockages, multipath and interference. Such interference can stem from malicious jamming and spoofing or from other radiofrequency transmitters. Detecting interference can help optimize schedules and prevent disruptions caused by unreliable information, while detecting jamming and spoofing events can enhance the security of the railways. In case of an emergency, accurate location information is critical for effective response. Our proposal This cooperation project between TUM Data Innovation Lab and IABG represents a first step into the future of railway management based on GNSS navigation. First, we conducted a deep analysis of core relations in the data collected by the Swiss Federal Railways SBB measuring trains, extracting data patterns pointing to jamming events. Afterwards, the data was examined with machine learning methods to identify and flag faults caused by interference. This allowed the investigation of the influence of different jamming parameters and the time-dependencies within the data.
