Toxic positivity is the assumption that despite a person’s emotional pain and turmoil, they should only have a positive mindset. When we pretend that emotional pain doesn’t exist, we send a message to our brain that whatever the emotion is, it is in some way bad or dangerous. If our brain believes we are in a dangerous situation, our body will respond as such. By overdoing positive affirmations, we may be invalidating our or others’ feelings and harming them when they are already in a vulnerable state. The best way to deal with negative emotions is to let yourself feel the emotions you’re feeling and let them pass, not push them under the rug.

I came across this insightful article on LinkedIn that resonated deeply with me. It beautifully articulates the importance of acknowledging our true emotions, especially in challenging times. Let's remember, it's okay not to be okay sometimes. 🌿 #ToxicPositivity #EmotionalWellbeing

Ah, December. The magical time of year when: You’re squeezing in one last meeting while ordering catering for the holiday party. Deadlines stare you down like a disappointed elf on a shelf. 2025 budgets seem more imaginary than Santa himself. The “holiday travel” glow fades after two missed flights and a luggage mishap. It’s the month of multitasking madness—wrapping gifts with one hand, firing off emails with the other, all while wondering if you can expense at least one cup of spiked eggnog. But here’s the truth: beneath all the chaos, we’re making things happen. Goals are being crushed, teams are pulling together, and that 11th-hour success? It’s proof that we thrive under pressure (even if fueled by caffeine and candy canes). So, here’s to smiling through the madness and finding joy in the small wins. After all, the real success isn’t just in closing deals or hitting deadlines—it’s in celebrating how far we’ve come. (And maybe sneaking a second piece of pie at the party...we earned it.) Just a quick reminder to our amazing agents out making projects move forward, you all are killing it! Thank you for all that you do! - The Twisted Team #holidays #2025 #motivation #funny #rightofway #acquisition #title #stakeholders #shareholders #land #energyindustry https://lnkd.in/gg3Y28GT

Living in the tranquil towns of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire I cherish the love, peace and quiet that define our community. However, I equally love the unique kind of peace that comes with the roar of motorcycles during Motorcycle Week in Laconia, New Hampshire. Today marks the start of Motorcycle Week in Laconia, New Hampshire, transforming serene surrounding small towns like Wolfeboro and Alton into buzzing hubs of excitement. The population skyrockets (our small towns become "crowded"), traffic jams abound, and the roar of engines fills the air. But Motorcycle Week is much more than the sound and spectacle; it's a celebration of brotherhood and sisterhood. Despite the influx, the atmosphere remains remarkably peaceful. Even with biker clubs in town, the week is filled with joy and camaraderie. There's a palpable sense of unity and love, with no major conflicts to speak of. One notable aspect is the presence of militant female bikers who protest the beach ban on topless sunbathing in Gilford, NH. They view this as anti-female and fight for their rights passionately, aligning with the more progressive stance of places like Hampton Beach, which does not enforce such draconian laws. Motorcycle Week is a vibrant celebration of community and freedom, where everyone, regardless of their background, comes together in a spirit of harmony and mutual respect. So, rev your engines and join the festivities—this week is all about love on two wheels. #divineintervention #gabenfreude #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

Today marks the start of Carers UK Week! From 10-16 June 2024, this years Carers Week focuses on 'Putting Unpaid Carers on the Map,' highlighting the challenges faced by carers and recognising their invaluable contributions across the UK. Anyone supporting a family member or friend with a mental or physical illness, disability, addiction, or age-related needs is a carer. This year's theme highlights the increasing pressures on unpaid carers and campaigns for their recognition and support. A Carers UK survey found: 💡 That 82% of carers anticipate significant challenges to their physical and mental health in the coming year, 💡 Nearly 60% believe that feeling valued as carers would improve their well-being. Employers can support carers by: ✔ Encouraging the Provision of a Carers Passport: This document helps carers and managers discuss and document needed flexibilities, reducing the need for renegotiation with each job change. ✔ Prioritising Flexible Working: Flexible arrangements are crucial for managing care responsibilities. ✔ Supporting Carers Networks: Forums for sharing knowledge and resources, raise awareness of caring issues. ✔ Reviewing and 'carer proofing' current policies and practice. ✔ Raising awareness of caring and caring issues in the workplace, through lunch and learns and e-Learning courses. As a primary carer for my mum, who was diagnosed with dementia just before the pandemic, I know the challenges involved. I don’t talk about it much; sometime people can be unempathetic, to one just wants to get on with it. Conversations with other carers really helps and does bring some comfort. Flexible working has been a lifesaver, and I strongly advocate for the Carers Passport—it truly helps! Today, I salute every carer, young and old, past and present, you are the true heroes of our communities. Give a shoutout to someone you know who is or was a carer. These individuals are #amazing. Carers come from all walks of life, and every caring situation is different. Caring can impact your ability to live a normal life — socialising, financial security, education, and other opportunities that were once part of everyday life can be diminished due to the challenges involved with family caring. But who cares for carers? Learn all about the supports available to keep carers healthy and connected.👇 https://lnkd.in/g5k29cas
