Christian instruction in US public schools is governed by the case Zorach v. Clauson, allowing 'released time religious instruction.' It must be off school property, privately funded, and with parental consent. Legal considerations vary by jurisdiction, so consult local authorities for specific questions. https://buff.ly/4dpbS8e #nwef #education #parents #schooling #teachers #christianeducation #religion

From the archives... Parents don’t need a bill of rights as much as they need a reversal of abdication. In principle, I would support parents having more authority in their local school districts and oversight of academic contents, but my fundamental contention with public school isn’t as much what they teach (although that is a grave concern), but that they exist. I’m fairly certain a “Parents Bill of Rights” isn’t going to fix our ailing and failing school system. The system is the problem. Handing your children over to others to fulfill a responsibility that God has given to parents is an abandonment of God-given responsibility. I believe schools might have a place in fulfilling our true religious responsibility (caring for the widows and fatherless - James 1:27), but by and large schooling is often antithetical to true education and should be avoided at all costs. #HomeEducation #homeschool #homeschooling #education #GetOutNow #PublicSchoolExit #ChristianEducation #EdcuationIsDiscipleship #ChristianHomeschoolRevolution https://lnkd.in/gkuzuqRH

IS IT TIME TO GRAB A REPUBLICAN EDUCATION? When it comes to history, Republicans are particular. When it comes to sex, Republicans are even more particular. And so Republicans enact laws like the Don't Say Gay law and restrict access to books inappropriate for children (and adults who haven't a clue as to what is appropriate). Instead, Republicans want to teach what they call "the good book". To help them demonstrate why "the good book" is the only book a well-read, highly educated young Christian needs, here is Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian: https://lnkd.in/eXYd4Hgj

From the archives... The implications of this article are that parents are incensed at the egregious violation of their children’s innocence, yet there is no mention of the one thing parents can do...remove their children from these institutions peddling abominable teachings. In every state in the United States, parents have the option to remove their children from institutionalized public schooling and for those families with a Christian faith tradition, I would argue that they have a biblical responsibility to do so. #HomeEducation #homeschool #homeschooling #education #GetOutNow #PublicSchoolExit #ChristianEducation #EdcuationIsDiscipleship #ChristianHomeschoolRevolution https://lnkd.in/gQnFn3-3

Navigating religious accommodations in schools can be complex. In the latest issue of School Administrator, education attorney David Rubin explores what constitutes a reasonable religious accommodation for school employees. "At what point does an accommodation become unreasonable because it imposes too great a hardship on your district?" The government plans to lift an entry cap on religious free schools. Right now, free schools can select only 50% of pupils on basis of faith. Introduced in 2010, the cap only applies when a school designated with a religious character is overbooked, otherwise all applicants must be admitted in line with standard admissions policy. What do you think of this decision? Check out the full story in the comments 👇 #faith #education #schools

Amazing to think that in one of the world’s leading democracies we are seeing such a negative approach to religious belief. The idea that we cannot live together in disagreement is a modern concept that has only really reared its head in totalitarian systems previously. We need to regain the original understanding of tolerance as living comfortably in disagreement with others and finding a way to do that.
MEDIA RELEASE Christian school groups have categorically denounced recommendations in yesterday's report by the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) to remove the right of faith-based schools to employ staff who share their beliefs and call upon the Albanese government to immediately reject the recommendations. The recommendations in the Final Report provide fewer protections for faith-based schools than in the controversial initial Consultation Report. Now is the time for the community to speak loudly in response. Please take a moment to write to the Attorney General and show your support for Christian schools here: https://lnkd.in/gQPUmwg7 Read the full media release here: https://lnkd.in/gN8eck6u #ALRC #CSA #mychristianschool #religiousschools #religiousfreedom #christianschools

In the latest polling 94% of all voters support the right of parents to choose a school that reflects their strongly held values and beliefs. And we know that parents are choosing Christian schools in increasing numbers. 80% of Australians support the right of faith based schools to employ teachers and other staff who support the values and beliefs of the school ... after all ... that is why parents are choosing these schools in the first place. #religiousfreedom #christianschools #parentalchoice

HAI CEO, Jillian Brennan, was interviewed yesterday on the Soapbox on Newstalk. Jillian spoke about the difficulties facing non-religious families in our education system. She set out the extremely slow pace of the government’s School Divestment programme, which aims to achieve 400 multi-denominational primary schools by 2030. There are currently approximately 170 such schools, so there is a significant mountain to climb to achieve that goal in the next 6 years. The HAI does not believe that it can be achieved, given that the average pace of divestment in the last few years has been 1 to 2 schools per year. Over 95% of all schools are under religious patronage, with almost 90% being Catholic. Jillian also spoke about how religious instruction should be moved to the end of the school day, to avoid discrimination against non-religious children or children of minority faiths.
