"Let me tell you how you really do science. You have an idea that you want to do something, and then you make a plan - you need to build this, you have to make this, you have to design that. And if the process of doing that doesn’t give you pleasure and fun, you’re not going to do it." Rainer Weiss received the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics for his part in detecting gravitational waves. It was a journey that took more than five decades and was finally achieved in collaboration with over 1,200 researchers from more than twenty countries. Congratulations. Don’t forget that one has to endure the often narrow-minded opinions of grant reviewers. These can often diminish the fun that can be experienced by the researchers. Your perseverance is greatly appreciated and admired!

You just cellularly integrate physics to do real science, Rainer, called ultrabiomology and far beyond. Wereldhogeschool.be

Great advice - "And if the process of doing that doesn’t give you pleasure and fun, you’re not going to do it."

You'd better have pleasure if you want to survive a 5-decade journey! And talent, if you don't want it to be interrupted. Respect.
