Noble Corporation announced today that we have entered into a definitive merger agreement to acquire Diamond Offshore in a stock plus cash transaction. Robert Eifler, Noble’s President and CEO commented, “This acquisition enables Noble to continue our journey of delivering superior innovation and value to a broad range of the leading offshore operators across the world. Our position will be strengthened with the addition of four 7th generation drillships and one of the most high-spec harsh environment semisubmersible rigs in the world." Sad to see such a storied name as Diamond M disappear, but consolidation amongst the drilling contractors will ultimately make for a more resiliant sector with stronger players - there is still plenty of competition. With this and the Pacific purchase, Noble have picked up some really excellent rigs.
Hopefully more job opportunities 🙏…
I have worked with both of these companies over the years, on numerous projects. I wish them well in their future ventures.
hopefully more job opportunities available.
Congratulations Noble. Should help your bottom line
Wow. Definitely a major move in the offshore drilling business!
Congratulations Noble on your merger with Diamond.
Big announcement! Exciting things on the horizon at Noble!
👏 ótima notícia!!
Not sure why the term - merger is used - Noble is purchasing Diamond outright and will own and operate the ex-Diamond rigs under Noble Offshore company name as well as change rig names etc. It is a buy-out or an acquisition not a merger.
