The transition from military service to civilian life is often challenging, with finding meaningful employment being a major barrier. The Southern California Veterans Study surveyed 3,188 veterans (42% from Los Angeles, 19% from Orange County, and 39% from San Diego) to explore the challenges they face, including securing meaningful employment. The data was collected between July 2022 and June 2023. Below are the top three reasons why finding work remains difficult.
