Last Friday I attended a fab networking event called Reputation matters. On the panel were Pippa Lain-Smith Hannah Freeman Dan Bradfield Chris Reeve brilliantly chaired by David Powles During the event we were challenged by Chris to post up a video on LinkedIn the following week. No fancy editing, no overthinking, no procrastination! Just share something of value, of interest, a personal story, maybe a glimpse behind the scenes of your brand, just something that would get us into the habit of posting regular video - where we lose the fear, the doubt and perfectionism which can be crippling. So in the spirit of the challenge, this the first in a new #series and something I’ve been sitting on for months! It’s called 60 SECONDS And you can do it in your #workplace either in the main #office or #wfh During a short #microbreak what can you do that’s quick, simple, easy and fun, that’s going to bring some benefit to you and your #health and longterm #workplacewellbeing ? #activeworking is about breaking the unhealthy cycle that comes with chronic #sitting and #sedentary work. You could do a simple #stretch or #exercise engage in some #deepbreathing #hydrate with water not coffee, or take a minute to do the 20-20-20 #eyeexercise even a short #walk counts. What would you do in 60 seconds? Share your video. I'll be featuring in the next one, here's Avril McCann with one of her favourite exercises, balancing on one leg. Here's me and Kate Mason-Keaney Making Waves at her kitchen table last week. We regularly connect on Zoom or by phone in the week to cover off most of the day-to-day stuff, but as someone who spends a lot of time working from home on my own when I'm not with clients, our face-to-face days are so important and give me so much energy. These are the days when we can connect fully to work on the big stuff - strategy, planning, and client work. We get to really focus on the goal we set ourselves for the day, bounce ideas around the room faster, and have the important conversations. We sometimes also get to wear our Making Waves jumpers😁. We advocate to our clients, that in the fast-paced digital world we live in, human-to-human connection is more important than ever to create the psychological safety, trust and conditions needed for high performance.
