🔒 Protect Your Vision with Laser Safety Eyewear 🔒 Did you know that even brief exposure to certain laser wavelengths can cause permanent eye damage? Laser safety should be a top priority whether you're working in medical, industrial, or scientific fields. Lasers can damage your eyes in multiple ways, including: • Retinal burns: High-power lasers can focus light directly onto your retina, leading to serious burns and potential blindness. • Corneal damage: Certain wavelengths can cause surface damage to your cornea, resulting in painful injuries and long-term vision impairment. • Cataracts: Prolonged exposure to some lasers can increase the risk of developing cataracts, clouding your vision over time. At NoIR InSight, we design laser safety eyewear with precision-engineered filters that protect your eyes from specific wavelengths. Our filters block harmful laser radiation while allowing safe light to pass through, ensuring both your safety and visibility. Don't take risks with your vision. Choose the right protection for your eyes with NoIR InSight's laser safety eyewear—engineered for excellence, designed for comfort. #LaserSafetyEyewear #PrecisionVisionProtection #NoIRInSight #EyeSafety #VisionProtection

Don't forget to protect your eyes! UV light is damaging to your eyes beacuse of the two different types of UV rays. - UV-A can penetrate your lens and cornea and damage the retina located at the back of your eye. - UV-B rays are absorbed by the cornea and lens, which can actually create more vision issues over time, than UV-A rays. UV rays can actually go through your eyelids, so even when your eyes are closed outside, all these issues can arise. - Wear sunglasses that block 99-100% UV radiation. - Take breaks from the sun and be in the shade. - And like always, go to your eye doctor and optician regularly. #skopemedical #sunlight #uvlight #protectyoureyes #eyehealth #bansalgroup #innzmedicalFI #innzmedicalDK #innzmedicalSE #skopemedicalNO

Setup and ready to support our client this sunny Saturday morning, conducting an eye clinic with the topic being, insight upon photokeratitis and ensuring the eyewear fits in line with the contours of the face, at site today. Photokeratitis being a temporary eye condition caused by UV rays, it occurs when the cornea and conjunctiva are exposed to intense UVA / UVB energy rays from the sun or an artificial source, the corneal epithelium should heal within 24-72 hours if the damage is not extensive and deep. Long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation accumulates over time, it can increase the risk of serious eye conditions, including macular degeneration and cataracts. Extended UV exposure may also lead to growths on the cornea and conjunctiva; pterygia and pinguecula. Our safety eyewear offers the maximum amount of UV protection (100% UV 400) and of equal importance is #wearability, not just to protect from an impact #risk but to ensure there are no gaps in parallel to the face where our eyes could be vulnerable to sun damage working outside, even on a cloudy day and inside where there are artificial blue light conditions that are harsh on one’s eye ☁️ 👓 ☀️ #eyeclinic #photokeratitis #protectingpeople #uv400

Here are some things to consider when purchasing your next pair of sunglasses: . 1) Choose sunglasses that block 99-100% of UV-A and UV-B radiation. 2) Consider larger frames of sunglasses for increased coverage of eye protection. 3) Consider polarized lenses to filter out reflected light, which is helpful with high glare settings like water activities. . If you are still not sure which pair is right for you, talk to your optometrist to find the perfect sunglasses so you can enjoy the sun safely! . #eyesafety #sunsafety #polarziedlens . #FactFriday: There are two basic types of contact lenses: soft and rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses. RGP lenses require a long adaptation period but are relatively inexpensive and allow excellent oxygen flow to the eyes. These lenses are especially useful for children, people with keratoconus, and people with corneal irregularities. Soft contact lenses are available in many different modalities. In general, these lenses require a short adaptation time but do not offer the same quality of vision available with RGPs. Disposable soft contact lenses are designed to be disposed of daily, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the lens; some are available with tints. Extended wear lenses are designed for overnight wear; newer soft lens extended wear designs are approved for a month of continuous wear, after which these lenses are to be disposed of. Anti-reflective lenses, also known as AR lenses or coatings, are designed to minimize glare and reflections on eyeglasses. These coatings are applied to both sides of the lenses to reduce glare from artificial lighting, computer screens, and sunlight, resulting in clearer vision and better visual comfort. By allowing more light to pass through the lenses, anti-reflective coatings improve contrast and clarity, especially in low-light conditions. Additionally, they can reduce eye strain and fatigue caused by prolonged screen time. Overall, anti-reflective lenses enhance visual acuity and provide a more aesthetically pleasing appearance by virtually eliminating distracting reflections on the lenses. 👀 Lasers: Powerful Tools, Serious Safety I've always loved Physics💖 For me, lasers are where physics gets to flex its creative muscles – bending light, harnessing energy... it's the stuff of science fiction made real 😎 If I could build a lightsaber, you better believe it would be laser-powered. Lasers are fascinating and incredibly useful, but with that power comes the need for caution! A 2018 Health Canada survey of Canadian optometrists and ophthalmologists reported a total of 318 eye injuries from lasers between 2013 and 2017, an yearly increase of 34.4% during that period. I've been seeing an alarming rise in laser-related injuries, and it's got me thinking about proper safety gear. Key Point: Know Your Laser Did you know your laser safety glasses must be rated specifically for your laser's wavelength (like 1064 nm) and have the correct Optical Density (OD)? Think of it like sunscreen – broad-spectrum is great, but you need the right SPF for serious protection. Why the Fuss? Lasers can cause serious, irreversible eye and skin damage in the blink of an eye (literally!). Mismatched safety glasses offer little to no real protection. 🤔 Not sure where to start? Your laser's manual should specify the right eyewear. No manual? Reach out to the manufacturer – your safety is worth it! Let's share the word! Do you have any laser safety tips to add? Tag someone who might find this useful! #lasersafety #eyeprotection #workplacesafety #physics #IndustrialHygiene #Laser #OHS
