There’s a common belief that big firms only recruit interns from Tier 1 colleges. I once thought the same, Reflecting on my journey, I remember feeling uncertain during my first semester, despite diligently pursuing certifications to develop my skills. One day, I decided to take control. I reached out to professionals on LinkedIn with impressive profiles, sending over 50+ connection requests every day. Only a few accepted, and I didn’t get any responses. That’s when I realized I needed to focus on what I could control. Here’s what worked for me: 1. College Connection: I reached out to my college seniors for guidance on "How to grab a good internship?" Some seniors provided the path I was looking for. 2. Skill Development: I focused on enhancing my skills by doing courses. These certifications added value to my LinkedIn profile. I completed over 7+ certifications in my first year alone. & Still persuing Take care of your skills, and your skills will give you results. 3. Networking: Initially, people didn't accept my connection requests, but I decided to send over 50 connection requests daily. There’s a major myth: "Your networks will give you an internship." That's completely wrong. It’s your bonds that decide this. Connections may fade, but bonds stay lifelong. For those who don't have a senior to guide them to a good internship, consider me your senior. I may not have found a senior in my college working in Kotak Mahindra Bank , but my juniors will definitely find one who did. Let's connect and build those bonds.
