Good afternoon past, present and future business owners. As the snow melts in most of North Carolina please take the time to break out your calendars and consider some upcoming events. These events offer a wide range of networking opportunities and information to help start, grow or restart your business dreams and goals. Although the bulk of these events are in North Carolina, businesses from all states are welcome to consider and attend. All the details for each event are provided in the links after the event date/name. I encourage you not only to review the event overview and agenda, but previous events as well. Looking at previous events will give you an opportunity to see briefs, attendee listings and other valuable information. 7 February, 8:00 AM, Blend Coffee, Jacksonville, NC: Veteran Business Collective, First Friday Coffee https://lnkd.in/dmTFME-Y 27 February, 6:00 PM, Eagle’s Dare, Wilmington, NC: Veteran Business Collective Networking Masquerade and Mardi Gras, https://lnkd.in/dmTFME-Y 27 March, 9:00 AM, Small Business Outreach, Tun Allen Event Center, Camp Lejeune, NC: https://lnkd.in/ejxJi4Aa. Registration information will be available no later than 31 Jan. 22-24 April: Southeast Region Federal Construction, Infrastructure and Environment Summit, Wilmington, North Carolina, www.ncmbc.us The North Carolina Veteran Business Association (www.ncvetbiz.org) is another great resource for veteran business owners. APEX Accelerators (www.apexaccelerators.us) work with federal, state and local partners to provide opportunities for companies new (and experienced) to government contracting to acquire the skills and know-how to compete. APEX Accelerators consistently host virtual events providing information across the full range of government contracting areas and topics. I also encourage all veteran business owners to visit your community colleges, local chambers of commerce. VFW, American Legion and other organizations. Networking is networking and you will never know about opportunities if you don’t engage with your community. For all business owners, your community colleges, local chambers of commerce and other business organizations, such as such as Genesis Block (www.genesisblockilm) offer the same networking, training and educations opportunities I mentioned to the veteran business owners as well. For my last point, the Marine Corps Installations East Regional Contracting Office is striving to increase Woman-Owned and Historically Underutilized Business Zone participation in Fiscal Year 2025, so please monitor the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) for upcoming opportunities. This was a longer post than I normally do, but I felt this will help us hit the ground running in Fiscal Year 2025!! "The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent Marine Corps positions, strategies or opinions.”
