🌿 CSR: Embracing Challenges, Seizing Opportunities 🔍 From Theory to Practice: Navigating the complex journey from theoretical frameworks to practical application in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is no small feat. Yesterday evening, our colleague Murielle Simon had the pleasure of leading the discussion at the ProRSE event on “The Role of a CSR Coordinator in Companies – Challenges and Opportunities.” Murielle shared her experience and best practices with the audience: "The CSR coordinator has the ability to shift paradigms and create positive impact within companies. This role is of a great value to the organizations." The event was not just a discussion but a deep dive into the very heart of CSR, exploring how CSR coordinators can effectively accelerate sustainable development within their organizations. #Luxembourg #Sustainability #Change #Transformation #CSR #Oakridge

Senior Events Professional | CN 30underThirty Winner - Class of 2023 | Creator of Live Experiences | Digital & Hybrid Event Expert
How can we manage ESG, while also continuing to design and deliver face-to-face experiences for global audiences? I ask this, as I’ve seen first-hand that there is still very much an appetite for attending in-person events, due to their invaluable networking opportunities, among others. Give our global client base here at Sledge, these ‘balancing act’ conversations and strategies have become commonplace, as clients increase their focus on doing good. We support them by, for example: 🌍 Highlighting the importance of incorporating ESG into global events. 🔍 Analysing their policies, and developing tailored solutions that reflect their ESG focus areas in the context of global events. 🫶 This may involve giving back to the host destination, through to measuring and tracking carbon emissions. In short, I don’t see global in-person events going away anytime soon, which means it's our responsibility as the event experts to step up, support, and educate, and it’s something we’re passionate about and committed at Sledge. If you’re interested in learning more about global events, in terms of doing good and their future, head on over to the company page, where I reveal some of my thoughts and predictions. #Sledge #globalevents #ESG #purposedriven #eventrends #eventprofs
While ESG is important to us, we also work with clients throughout the globe. So, how do we balance the two – in terms of achieving our own goals in this area and those of our clients, while also responding to attendees' desire to connect with their colleagues and peers from across the world, face-to-face? Leaning on her experience of working abroad of late, as well as skills gained through the ongoing development and application of our internal sustainability strategy, here Project Manager, Sophie Bowtell provides her take on these current happenings, shares her future predictions for global events, and more. #Sledge #globalevents #ESG #purposedriven #eventtrends #eventprofs

Another fantastic session from our webinar series The Sustainable Hotels Exchange with Sustainable Hotel News, this time focusing on diversity and inclusion. Guests included Naureen Ahmed from Inclusive Hospitality, Michelle Mason from the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, and Jane Devlin Grammer from the Dorchester Collection. Key takeaways: Jane highlighted the "importance of capturing data in DEI to understand how diverse an organisation is, and how bias may be creeping into hiring and promotions. This data shows where problems are so you can allocate resources effectively." Naureen noted in a recent study she conducted that "55% of women interviewed started their own businesses for flexibility, which means this group is leaving your workforce. Engage with employees to see what impact you can make, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you're not getting it right." Michelle stressed the importance of ensuring the work environment is inclusive and reflective of the community. What can hotels do to ensure they’re on the right track? Jane suggested conducting an accessibility audit to identify issues, and Michelle recommended taking a step back to review hiring practices and then focusing on training as needed. Overall, everyone agreed that they would like to hear more conversations like this around inclusiveness!

Stakeholder Engagement Expert with the penchant for developing strategies, content and projects that meet the particular needs of identified target groups| Masters, Management Innovation and Entrepreneurship
What is the conversation around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion or on a larger scale, Social Sustainability and Human Rights in the Caribbean Workplace? Goretti Paul, Denise CollymoreJanine Billy? After my recent facilitation of the Social Sustainability Module The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus for their Sustainability Certificate, I have been wondering what practical strides are being made in this area? Are we changing our policies, educating our teams, incorporating DEI training? Do our executive management teams acknowledge Social Sustainability standards as measures that can be adopted to move towards a more sustainable business framework? I would love to hear some thoughts from the HR Culture colleagues in the Caribbean... I know this can be a difficult topic because we are socialized differently, but how can we create our own space in this concept? #DEI #socialsustainability #caribbeanmentality #sustainableframeworks
