Almost all candidates would agree that their goal is to stand out and make a lasting impression. Here's 4 simple tips to make that happen in a sports sales interview: 1) Answer the phone professionally; you are interviewing for a role that's phone dominant. For example, "This is Nick." 2) Convey passion and excitement for this role specifically! Our leadership team and I can grow, train, and develop reps as they prepare to grow their career in ticketing. What we can't do is prep you for success in community relations, marketing, player ops etc. 3) Indicate that you've prepared for the conversation. That can look different for everyone but could include conversation around current events (renovations/construction), questions about ticket offerings, referencing mutual connections etc. 4) Ask meaningful questions. For example, "Noticed on your website that Youth Sports Day is big initiative, what other large group days are a focus?" Hope this helps and happy interviewing! PS I am hiring Account Executives for a June start date!

5 watch outs for hiring your next agency partner (based on 100s of pitches): ❌ Hyper-focus on the agency’s reputation. ✅ Pay attention to the solution they’ve assembled for you now—their current team’s expertise and fit matter much more. ❌ Get wowed by the senior leaders. ✅ Get to know the account team who you’ll be working with day-to-day. ❌ Base your decision on pitch presentations. ✅ Evaluate agencies based on what happens when they’re not “pitching”—things like their ability to ask smart questions and think on their feet. ❌ Assume any agency that has the right capabilities and expertise is the right fit. ✅ Choose agencies that align with your values, culture, and long-term goals. ❌ Make your decision based on price. ✅ Only engage with agencies that fit your budget, so you can focus on the value potential partners will bring to your organization. What mistakes have you made (or seen others make) when selecting an agency?

The best agency founders I’ve worked with always had this 1 thing in common: It was always a give-and-take relationship. I’d always learn a lot from their work to help me with my current & future clients. They’d get hours of admin saved by hiring me (humble brag 💅🏼) It’s always been more difficult when the founder is less available and I have to do everything through another person, i.e. Head of Operations. That’s why, if you plan to hire a VA, but not work with them directly, hire an exceptional HoP first.

IS IT TIME TO HIRE A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT? Are you struggling to keep on top of your tasks? If 40-50% of your workload is spent on admin tasks, it’s time to consider hiring a VA. An online virtual assistant takes over time-consuming tasks like creating social media posts or scheduling meetings, so you can focus on more important work.
