Do you know?
Although the name “White Isle” became popular in the 40s, it was introduced long before! 🏠🏝
According to an article ✒ titled “ La Isla Blanca” in the Diario de Ibiza newspaper,
In the early 20th century, Catalan artist Santiago Rusiñol visited Ibiza and was awestruck by the white Ibizian architectural classics.
He completed his trip to Ibiza in 1912, and after coming back, he named Ibiza “White Island,” whereas he mentioned Mallorca as “The Island of Calm.”
