To create our award winning spirits, craft ales and rape seed oil we need energy. Some is produced through our solar panels on site. Heat is produced through using waste wood to feed our biomass boiler. Did you know our estate also grow crops destined for green energy? Harvest 2024 has begun with over five hundred acres of rye. This year it is all being used for green energy. The whole plant is harvested, chopped and stored in sealed sausage shaped agbags for a few months on the edge of the fields where it was grown before being transferred to the anaerobic digester plant in Andover. Anaerobic digestion produces two valuable outputs: biogas and digestate. The energy in biogas can be used like natural gas or to make electricity. With treatment the digestate (residual liquid & solids) can be used for bioplastics or fertiliser. (Biogas is made up of methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, water vapour and traces of other gases.) Sustainability has been at the heart of all we do and plan to do since we first brewed in 2004. Nothing wasted. Cheers to great British award winning sustainable all things Ramsbury & to the best harvest 2024 it can be. #sustainability #farming #british #ramsburyvodka #ramsburygin #ramsburygold

Mission: To build a cleaner, greener world through sustainable mobile filtration solutions. I'm a proud member of Generation D and creating a cleaner and greener world for all! 🌎🌿
🌍 Our latest biogas project in Poland is another success! 💪 We installed three of our mobile activated carbon filters in one of the landfills to remove hydrogen sulfide and siloxanes. Despite the limited space, we worked closely with the client to select a location that allows for the filters to be replaced in less than 30 minutes, reducing downtime dramatically! 🚛 Landfills can be challenging, but Desotec is up for a challenge! If you have issues with odors, wastewater, toxins, and gasses that need remediation, help is just an email away! Let's work together to find a solution. #biogas #remediation #landfills #sustainability

In my opinion this method of producing hydrogen should be pushed & backed by government as it gets rid of waste while producing hydrogen. true circular economy & everyone benefits from it. Great work 👏 👏 #hydrogensafe #hydrogenenetgy #sustainability

"K" line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd)has signed a marine #biofuel supply contract with World Fuel Services, facilitating the use of B100 biofuel, a 100% #biodiesel, for the car carrier Apollon Highway. The ship was supplied with the biofuel at #Zeebrugge, Belgium, on March 31st and began its test voyage on April 1st, completing it on April 30th. The biofuel used this time was made from renewable organic resources such as biomass, avoiding the use of raw materials that compete with food and feed. General Manager Strategic Partnerships and Communication at Scion, helping build a forest-based bioeconomy for Aotearoa New Zealand.
Global shipping accounts for 3% of global emissions. We need low carbon shipping solutions to meet climate change targets and protect market access for NZ’s exports. My colleagues at Scion are developing a new process using wood to produce sustainable biofuel for use in international shipping. We’re talking with commercial partners to bring this to market. Capturing just 1% of global demand for the low carbon fuel could be a $600m value-add for NZ, helping reduce #scope3emissions for exports to our key markets, and create another revenue stream for wood processing. Manufacturing sustainable marine biofuel from wood that can be blended directly with existing marine fuel is a $600 million opportunity for New Zealand. And Scion is tapping in. Scion's world-leading technology could lead to a sustainable timber-based marine biofuel industry in New Zealand to help reduce the climate impact of shipping our exports to the world. We're working towards commercialising Scion’s game-changing marine biofuels technology. If successful, it could significantly contribute to decarbonising international shipping Find out more: https://lnkd.in/g5Qm5rJX #marinebiofuel #biofuel #technology #innovation #commercialisation #sustainable #climatechange #shipping Amanda Davies Florian Graichen Paul Bennett Hon Judith Collins KC MP Todd McClay

Scion's Bioenergy team is working on a $600 million-a-year marine biofuel industry to help with shipping’s carbon problem. Check out this insightful article by Rob Stock. The development of sustainable biofuels is at a pivotal juncture. They are recognised for their important role in decarbonising the transport sector – particularly for their potential to help reduce aviation and shipping emissions. ❓ What is the challenge? As a commodity exporter distant to the countries it exports to, New Zealand is exposed to a global shipping industry responsible for around 3% of human generated carbon emissions, and left unchecked could rise into double digits by 2050. ❓ Where should we use biofuel? To address hard-to-abate sectors and the most likely road to expand biofuel production in New Zealand is to use non-food feedstocks, particularly planted forestry on non-arable land, to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Marine Biofuels. ❓ Where can I find more information?
