Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Willie Phillips, has demonstrated unwavering dedication to enhancing power system reliability and ensuring cost-effective electricity access for all Americans, while fostering constructive dialogue with stakeholders and garnering bipartisan support for vital initiatives. #Bitcoin #btc #bitcoinmining #Bitcoin_Curtis #notfinancialadvice #energy #renewableenergy #reliability #affordability #electricity #powergeneration #energytransition #transmissionmanagement #renewables
What’s in a name? Less than you might think. The DC parlor game of creating controversy where none seems to exist has unfortunately made its way to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. A lot of #FERC watchers and gadflies seem to have opinions about the title of who’s “acting” and seemingly less interested in the results of who’s “doing.” Since becoming a member of #FERC, and even more so since being named the commission’s chairman, Chairman Willie Phillips has shown tremendous leadership on critically important power system concerns, including a laser focus on reliability. He has made clear his commitment to securing reliable and cost-effective access to electricity for all Americans, and the need for action to address mounting challenges. He has also been actively engaged in reaching out to and hearing from all stakeholders to establish a productive dialogue on how to achieve those goals. It has been clear to Electric Power Supply Association and our member companies that Chairman Phillips’ achievements in moving items on the #FERC docket with bipartisan support and in the role as head of the Commission is not diminished by any use of the word “acting” before his title. Whatever title the chattering class is focused on we are not. We look forward to Chairman Phillips' continued leadership in working collaboratively to get things done. #leadership #reliability

🌟 Important Updates in the Texas Energy Sector 🌟 Attention Texas energy professionals, especially those concerned with ERCOT: 1️⃣ Honoring #Juneteenth: Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that all enslaved people were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day marks a critical milestone in our nation's history and serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards equality and justice. Texas was the first state to recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday in 1980, highlighting its profound significance to the Lone Star State's history and heritage. 2️⃣ Leadership Change: Paul Foster has announced his resignation as Chair of the ERCOT Board of Directors. Foster, who took on the role in October 2021, has been a significant figure in steering the council through challenging times. 3️⃣ ERCOT's South Texas Chokepoint: ERCOT is back to the drawing board to address congestion-prone transmission lines near San Antonio, which pose a risk of statewide blackouts. CEO Pablo Vegas reported that their recent conservation program failed to garner enough commitments, prompting a need for new strategies. With summer peak hours approaching, addressing these chokepoints is crucial for ensuring grid reliability. Stay informed and be part of the conversation on these critical developments. The energy sector's resilience and adaptability are key to meeting these challenges head-on. 🔗 Read the full article for an in-depth analysis: ERCOT's Demand Response Efforts #GridMonitor #ERCOT #EnergyNews #TexasEnergy #Juneteenth #LeadershipChange #GridReliability Grid monitor is free to try. nuclear is where it's at.
I was thrilled to see Georgia Power Company’s Vogtle 4 placed into commercial operation, making Plant Vogtle the largest #generator of clean energy in the nation. Together, Units 3 and 4 will produce enough #electricity to power an estimated 1 million homes and businesses for the next 60 to 80 years. It is surreal to see what Southern Company has achieved for Georgia, the U.S., and the world given the uncertainties in place when we partnered with them at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in 2017. Well done Chris Womack, former CEO Tom Fanning, and the entire Southern Company family on this groundbreaking accomplishment! And thanks to Rick Perry for recognizing the successful #future of this project. https://lnkd.in/gE9HJHXn
