Squeeze every bit of efficiency available from your daily operations. DH Pace experts can recommend product, repairs, and planned maintenance options that optimize your processes and keep everyone safe at the same time. Make your loading dock more efficient and safe by doing the following: 1. Add Dock Levelers - Dock levelers provide a means for safe loading and unloading for vehicles and employees. 2. Add Truck Restraints - Truck restraints lock the trailer into place during loading and unloading. This prevents shifting that can cause a dangerous gap. 3. Add Communication Lights - Communication lights signal to the driver and dock employees when a trailer is locked into the bay or not. 4. Add Dock Enclosures - Both compression seals and dock shelters around the dock opening minimize the loss of energy to outdoor elements, although in different ways. 5. Complete Regular Planned Maintenance - Planned maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations to check all equipment for proper operation allows you to get ahead of safety issues before they arise. One of the things I bring up regularly is maintenance & this guy puts the proof in the pudding. 4 Million miles is a huge milestone period but in one truck is a feat that few have or will accomplish. How he did it was meticulous maintenance and a few rebuilds over the last 29yrs in the truck. Something my Dad told me when I got my first car is the best advice ever when it comes to maintaining anything with an engine, "they call it preventive maintenance for a reason". All you have to do is follow the maintenance schedule and also do good pre-trips to catch other things & you too can have a long life out of your equipment. Yes maintenance is expensive but what's more expensive is roadside, repairs on the road, & loss time to move freight. https://lnkd.in/gG-sWGHy

The following incident demonstrates the importance of effective trailer hitch inspection and maintenance regimes. During heavy vehicle transit, a tri axle tag trailer carrying a padfoot road roller detached from a truck on a highway, travelled 153 metres into the opposite lane and struck a guard rail before stopping. This was caused by significant wear on the main hitch nut thread, which led to the trailer detaching from the truck. Original material courtesy of Safer Together (Australia). #forklifttruck ✓Forklift trucks use a two-prong fork to lift and stack loads, conserving space, and can be equipped with special attachments for specific materials like barrels. ✓ Key safety precautions include:- 1)Mark capacity on the truck and avoid overloading. 2)Keep forks low but clear of ramps. 3)Avoid jerking when tilting loads at height. 4)Do not allow personnel to ride on forks. 5)Ensure forks are driven fully under the load. 6)Use overhead guards to prevent falling objects. 7)Maintain good aisle conditions with proper lighting and mirrors at corners. ✓General precautions:- 1)Proper operator training with instructions and guidelines. 2)Forks should be lowered during travel; avoid moving forks while lifting or lowering. 3)Drive in reverse if load obstructs vision or on slopes. 4)Cross rail tracks diagonally. 5)Ensure bridges are secured before crossing. 6)Operators should avoid carrying people, check vehicle condition, park properly, and report defects. No repairs or turns on gradients should be made without authorization.

Ring feeders play a critical role in connecting trailers and dollies to heavy vehicles, so it's important to make sure that operators of heavy vehicles know and understand the requirements for using them. In this incident, a heavy vehicle was moving a rig over a distance of about 70 km. On the return trip, the vehicle operator towed the dolly trailer separately. Around 68 km into the return, the trailer detached and veered off the road, coming to rest in the embankment. Original material courtesy of Safer Together (Australia).
