Bats: Not So Spooky After All - Beneficial Creatures Deserve More Than a Bite Bats, those often-feared creatures of the night, are actually some of our greatest allies! Found worldwide, these expert pollinators and insect gobblers play a vital role in healthy ecosystems. Without bats, imagine a world with far fewer bananas and a whole lot more itchy mosquito bites. Yet, these beneficial creatures are unfairly demonized due to age-old associations with vampires and witchcraft. Understanding dispels fear, so here's a quick look at the positive impact of bats: Pollinators: Bats play a crucial role in plant reproduction, ensuring a healthy supply of fruits like bananas. Insect Control: Their appetite for insects helps keep pest populations in check, reducing the need for pesticides. Harmless to Humans: Despite myths, most bats pose no threat to humans and actually avoid contact whenever possible.

Sunflower Pest Insect Monitoring Homoeosoma nebulella, the Eurasian sunflower moth, is a moth of the family Pyralidae. It is found in Europe, Russia, Anatolia, the Middle East and West Africa. The wingspan is 20–27 mm. Tanymecus dilaticollis The insect has a body of 6.5-8 mm long. The insect cuts the plants from the parcel, in a mass attack causing the crops to be compromised. When the plants are attacked in a more advanced phase, the insects marginally bore the leaves, in the form of steps; the plants recover, but are delayed in vegetation With Teraseya Fly smart trap, we can prevent Sunflower crop from being attacked by sending the following alerts to the farmer in a timely manner: · Risk of pest insect occurrence (based on weather model) · First pest insect occurrence · Temperature, humidity, insect count custom thresholds · Egg laying alerts · Spray alerts www.teraseya.com

From Snails to Birds: Disrupting the Centrocestus Life Cycle in Tilapia Farming This Asian digenetic trematode, introduced to the Mediterranean in the early 1990s, poses a severe threat to tilapia health. It causes extensive gill damage, leading to breathing difficulties, stunted growth, and increased susceptibility to other infections. Combatting Centrocestus requires a proactive and integrated approach to fish health management. The Aqua Consortium's expert team can help you develop and implement effective strategies to protect your valuable fish stocks. Diabrotica virgifera attacks The adult first feeds on the leaf blade, which it perforates in the form of longitudinal stripes along the ribs. During the flowering period, the attack extends to silk and pollen. Sometimes the grains from the top of the cob, in the milk phase, are eaten. The adults can then migrate to later seeded corn crops. The larvae feed on the corn roots, causing them to shorten. As a result of this method of attack, the roots can no longer support the plants, so they tend to bend towards the ground. Using the Teraseya Fly smart trap, we can prevent corn crops from being attacked by sending the following alerts to the farmer in a timely manner: · Risk of pest insect occurrence (based on weather model) · First pest insect occurrence · Temperature, humidity, insect count custom thresholds · Egg laying alerts · Spray alerts www.teraseya.com
