Dr. Wu has innumerous cloud-based open-source tools to support the work of hydrologists. I am very excited to learn more about his tools and share this knowledge with my fellow hydrologists at AIH. As an extra benefit, Dr. Wu will Apply surface water mapping techniques to real-world flood events, such as the 2022 Pakistan floods and 2024 Brazil floods. You cannot miss this one! #AIHWebinar
Do you want to demonstrate proficiency in using cloud-based platforms & open-source tools to efficiently process & analyze geospatial data? Then register now & hear from @giswqs on the next #AIHWebinar. https://ow.ly/ipko50SuMAS

Each dot represents an image, the color of the dot represents the content type of that image. Would you prefer the slider being to the left or the right if you were to separate the dots into their distinct colors/content types? 🎨 At Encord we've been thinking about how to improve the experience of searching through large piles of images without having to look at all the images. This project is about tailoring embedding spaces to specific problems. In turn, this will make the identification of new unlabelled and relevant data faster. Think geospatial intelligence is just about mapping data? Think again! In this session, we'll dive into the world of geospatial functions available in popular data platforms. We'll walk through a compelling real-world use case: predicting the percentage of students participating in the free and reduced lunch program using shape files and data from various government agencies. Learn how to leverage geospatial intelligence to enhance analysis, and, yes, even get tips on displaying your results in maps. Whether you're a beginner or looking to expand your geospatial toolkit, this session has something for you. Join us for a journey beyond the map! Britton Gray https://buff.ly/3SnQEPx

Really nice report from Snowflake (Eda Johnson) and CARTO (Matt Forrest) on the current Geospatial Industry trends... The highlight observation for me is that massive amounts of location data aren’t stored as “data” but instead as PDFs, documents, and other non-tabular data. And that LLMs can help enable access this data. For example, if you want to deploy a new mobile data tower, it's helpful to immediately understand the constraints and regulations in that area. Besides that, the timeline on tools is really interesting to see the lay of the land. https://hubs.ly/Q02kmkD60
