I will be presenting Findings from the National ACT Study. This was the largest descriptive study of ACT ever conducted - all with funding and support from Arnold Ventures.
In next week's meeting, I will present some of the findings across all major parts of the study. As with other meetings, this will be recorded and available to those unable to attend.
This massive project, which many of you participated in (thank you!), entailed:
- a careful surveying of each US state in their implementation of ACT and forensic ACT (FACT) - how many teams, reimbursement, program oversight, fidelity monitoring, workforce development;
- surveying ACT team leaders (n = 306, representing 40 US States/Districts/Territories) to better understand your experience in workforce recruitment and retention, aspects of your program and who you are serving; and
- examination of ACT fidelity data (TMACT) across 11 US states (n = 216 teams) - examining distributions of fidelity/practice, as well as describing attributes of the team and clients served, both for higher and lower fidelity programs.
The aim of this study was to fill a significant knowledge gap in the world of ACT. We hope the finds will better inform implementation and dissemination decisions, especially as it relates to higher fidelity ACT support.
