Roadworks at Piccadilly Circus 1910... The image likely depicts roadworks at Piccadilly Circus in London in 1910. This bustling intersection, known for its vibrant atmosphere and iconic architecture, has long been a focal point of the city. One interesting fact about Piccadilly Circus during the early 20th century is that it was undergoing significant transformation due to the advent of motor vehicles and the need to modernize infrastructure. The roadworks in 1910 were part of broader efforts to adapt the city's streets to accommodate the increasing number of cars, buses, and other motorized vehicles, which were becoming more common in London. Piccadilly Circus itself was created in 1819 to connect Regent Street with Piccadilly. By the early 20th century, it had already become a major traffic hub, necessitating frequent roadworks and improvements to handle the growing congestion. The introduction of electric street lighting and the iconic illuminated advertisements further transformed the area, making it a symbol of London's modernity and commercial vitality. The roadworks at Piccadilly Circus in 1910 would have been a considerable undertaking, involving the reconstruction of roads, installation of new utilities, and possibly the introduction of early traffic management systems. This period of change set the stage for Piccadilly Circus to become the vibrant and bustling landmark it is known as today.

🥇 As the curtain drew on #ParisOlympics, the next Olympics in Los Angeles are already in the spotlight and it is all about #realestate 🏢 𝐍𝐨-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 LA 2028 embraces a "no-build" approach, utilizing existing world-class venues to host the Games ♻️ 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 The Games are set to be the most sustainable in history, with a focus on reducing carbon footprint, promoting green energy, and integrating public transportation. 2700 electric charging zero emission buses to shuttle people will be added. 🏟 𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐬 Key buildings like the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, SoFi Stadium, and the Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena) will play central roles, showcasing LA's readiness without the need for new construction. The Athlete’s Village will be located at UCLA and the Media Village will be housed at University of Southern California. 🔑 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 There are more than 50 projects in Downtown LA currently under construction and more than 100 sites that have been approved for future projects, according to the Downtown Center Business Improvement just in time for the Olympics. It will be one of the major venues. The city has also approved multiple projects to build hotels and retail spaces for tourists. One of those projects is Exposition Point (originally called The Fig) that will be built at the junction of Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, right next to USC. 🛏 Living quarters adjacent to venues for the 2026 World Cup, and the 2028 Summer Olympics are becoming hot. There is a fortune to be made renting Stadium View units to short-term renters who come to town for spectacles (in 2019, Airbnb entered into a nine-year, $500 million partnership with the Olympics) Time for retailers, hotel management companies, multi family landlords to plot their LA strategy if not already in motion! ⏫ #commercialrealestate #LAOlympics #retail

The #experience economy: #Concerts, #museums, #sportingevents, #amusementparks, #dining, #vacations, #retreats, #zoos, #aquariums, etc. 🎟️2023: Live Nation sold 620 million tickets to concerts and events – its biggest year ever – due in part to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour. ✈️Spending on experiences in the US has increased 65% from 2019 to 2023 (Mastercard’s Travel Industry Trends Report) Remember a simple visit to a Chuck E. Cheese, Discovery Zone or your local #bowling alley? Experiential entertainment isn’t new, but it has been reimagined. Think bowling alleys that are now a Lucky Strike Entertainment or a Pinstripes Think your local zoo and now you have zoos that provide birthday parties, playgrounds, and carousels Think kid-friendly arcades of yester year and now you have Sky Zone, Xtreme Energy, BounceU, Bounce Safari, Nerf Action Xperience, etc Sky Zone is a fun example. It was founded in 2004 – an indoor trampoline park chain that has a franchise model. ▪️They are looking to expand to 300 locations nationwide by the end of 2024 ▪️Sky Zone generated $426 million in sales in 2022 ▪️As malls and shopping centers continue to evolve, Sky Zone looks to convert closed grocery stores, movie theaters, and other big box retailers in the right locations. Have you heard of any of these kid-friendly chains? If not, I bet there’s one close by. More of this is coming as malls and shopping centers look to get to a 50/50 shopping/entertainment split. There's indoor "skydiving." What's next?
